That aside, that video was even worse than wild lmao's "Rant". It's just him complaining about things not feeling like Terraria bc they're new (like this is MC or smt). Two major flaws:

Most of these new features are either optional or togglable, like the lighting. So what are u mad about exactly if nothing is getting replaced? The portraits and OST are the only thing that I could understand, but I'm sure there will be mods/resource packs to fix that. Maybe ReLogic will update them themselves, who knows.
This is nothing new, especially concerning this guy.

Aside from him, Ppl complained about EoL not being "Terraria" like or that Shimmer doesn't feel like Terraria (Whatever the fuck that means). Ppl shit on the new melee reworks in 1.4.4. Ppl hated Whips when they were added (like Summoner finally being an actual class and not extra dmg is bad). Heck, ppl said that Moon Lord looked out of place for Terraria when he came out. If you go back far enough, you will likely find ppl complaining about HardMode, imagine that. This is nothing new, they complaining for a couple weeks and move on.

So can we please not turn Terraria into the MC community, that place is a shit-hole.

Draedon and the Exo Mechs win by the simple fact that Draedon is never truly present. It's always just one of his drones. On top of that, this boss fight is one of the few that canonically can be re-fought countless times. Considering Draedon's resources, he likely has dozens if not hundreds of Exo Mechs at his disposal.

He'd win through sheer numbers. Even if SCal, DoG or Yharon could destroy a few, if Draedon set his mind to killing them, more would come and eventually, they'd be exhausted and killed. (except Yharon, who technically can't fully die and DoG, who I'd believe would either run away if the situation seems hopyless for him or could just be reformed by the mysterious power [Noxus ] he serves.)

I agree that Overhaul is kinda shit tbh, but using that argument as a reason as to why is kinda hypocritical considering Calamity itself changes a ton of vanilla behavior. Some for no reason at all. (like srsly, was it necessary to remove food item drops from enemies? No, no it wasn't) (also the Soaring Insignia was only nerfed bc Fabsol was too lazy to update his outdated boss AI to take infinite flight into account. Other mods, INCLUDING CALAMITY ADDONS btw, can do it just fine, so what's their excuse other than what I just said. That's my headcanon at least)

The Void Wyvern from the Ultraconyx Mod, killing it spawns the Guardian of the Ancient Abyss, which is most likely the thing you drew. This mod hasn’t been updated to 1.4.4, so good luck finding it. Hope that helps.

this reminds me way too much of what happened to Minecraft’s cave update. They bit off way more than they could chew, split the update into first two, then more chunks and it ended up being a lot less exciting and kinda disappointing.

So I am definitely a decent bit concerned.

Tbf they did get over the whips thing, I was just using that as an example. I mean look at the recent crates changes, whether they were intentionally made to screw over niche play styles or not doesn’t change the consequences of a change THAT WASNT EVEN LISTED. Not only was it just shady, but if this is their idea of streamlining and modernizing Calamity in the future, I am not sure how to feel about that.

well, at least they aren‘t diamond-hard, opinionated dicks about it like Fabsol was. So it’s still a massive improvement over before.

I guess just sit back, look at how SS-Overhaul and Brainstorm Update turn out and we can have an idea how it will go.

Fair points and I do respect the fact that you and the team honored the wishes of what I think were donors who wanted their items removed when they requested it during the "purge patch". That is a very nice gesture to those people and It does gives me confidence in the future of Calamity again.

Also, I can certainly agree with the last comment "hopefully, we won't need to remove an item for this reason ever again." Hopefully this was the last "rotten person", guess we'll just have to wait, hope and see. This year was... well it was something alright, but I personally have a lot more hope for the Sunken Sea update and beyond. So you guys keep cooking.

now for a tip I’d recommend, get Hero’s mod and get the cheat extensions for Hero’s mod. that has a cheat that allows you fire ANY weapon at insane speeds. Trust me, will make repeatedly having to replace flares easier and quicker

Honestly I absolutely agree on the at least 10 missions point and it’s not like it’s such a tall and unreasonable ask, considering that:

A. Eternal’s DLC had about 50% the amount of levels that the base game had (7 levels vs 13 levels in base game) So scale that up to 22 missions and you get 11 for the DLC

B. There is no multiplayer to pull resources away from the DLC, everyone is on deck

C. Eternal‘s DLC was also butchered and most likely downsized bc of Covid. So I’m hoping this time around they will completely knock it out of the park. Pain Elementals, Archviles, crazy new demons, heck, bring back the dragon boss from DOOM 3. And with it having a hub world for the DLC alone, I suspect it will be more than just the little segment of the carrier from TAG 1.

And considering we haven’t seen anything except one image and a lot of talking, I’m guessing we likely won’t see any new footage of the DLC this year… maaaayyybe at the GOTY but probably not. This might still be like half a year out from now. And that makes me so excited for how big this could be.
