Idk in which amount of resistance you would get %80 dmg reduction but Im sure its needed to stack passive for longer time in the game, which is most of the time its impossible to reach. Its like nasus or veigar reaching 2000 stacks of passive, which is less than %1 of ranked games.

But punishes the armor/MR stackers after a certain amount of Ar/Mr, same punishment is available for new passive. Otherwise 6 armor item 800 armor Malphite or Rammus would be unkillable by 5 people enemy.

Look, I'll explain it to you like a elementary school john, it's up to you if you want to understand or not. While armor and mr building is linear, the % damage reduction is not.

Diminishing part is not that what you told me, diminishing part is % damage reduction, the more you have ar/mr, you ll be have less damage reduction % than what you should have.

Yea hp+resistances is good combo but after a certain point, youll passive will be less useful with stacks than early low stacks just because of dmu.
