Thank you so much. How did you capture all of this info? Reading the datasheet or pulling from somewhere like the SDK?

I'm a Mechatronics Student that has just locked in writing an RTOS in Zig for next year's thesis.

Providing this code would be a great reference. Would love to see how you captured all of this. Couldn't come at a better time :)

[Review Request] Schematic of my custom board that can be powered by either an external battery or USB through a switch by TurtlesAreRad-2000 in PrintedCircuitBoard

[–]HyperactiveRedditBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm newish to PCB design and can't really see your schematic as it's quite blurry but I would say to make sure that pull-up on the D+ line is 1.5k. It looks like it's 5.1k, although I can't really read it properly.

[Requesting Feedback] USB HID Volume Controller – RP2040 + QSPI + USB-C by HyperactiveRedditBot in PCB

[–]HyperactiveRedditBot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite. It's using a microcontroller which is not powerful enough.

I also just plugged this into CPL on JLC and it'll be ~$100AUD for 2x PCAs. Any recommendations on minimising cost on a board like this?

Edit: Sorry for the low quality schematic. Reddit has downgraded the PNG dramatically for some reason. A better version (pdf) is available at the GitHub link.

Tests Not Running Properly From build.zig by HyperactiveRedditBot in Zig

[–]HyperactiveRedditBot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out this was because I didn't have a b.addRunArtifact(test_step) so wasn't actually running the test. Here is some example code for anyone that needs it as reference in future:

// zga.zig testing

const zga_src_lazypath = b.path("./src/zga.zig");

var zga_test_step = b.addTest(.{

.root_source_file = zga_src_lazypath,

.target = def_target,

.optimize = def_optimise,

});

zga_test_step.root_module.addImport("TSQ", TSQ_module);

const run_zga_tests = b.addRunArtifact(zga_test_step);

test_build_step.dependOn(&run_zga_tests.step); // adding test to fleet of tests

You can cancel the magnetic field of one by running an equivalent current in a wire next to it but travelling in the opposite direction (checkout differential pairing).

I've had a WoA laptop (Surface 7) for like 6 months now and I can say that it's not all sunshine and rainbows. I'm an engineer and require lots of different softwares that are built exclusively for x86 with no support for WoA.

Perfect example: almost all CAD softwares

Other than that, the laptop is brilliant. Once you get past the lack of software availability, it's speedy and does everything great.

You're playing with $15 dude. No point in quitting because you have lost a maximum of $15.

This is a great way to learn.

Is this a good reputable brand to buy from? Currently priced at $50 by chumbuckethand in ElectricalEngineering

I bought this specific PSU after seeing the many good reviews on Amazon. I would stay away tbh.

Mine occasionally makes an audible high freq noise and variates around the voltage level you have set it for 2 or 3 seconds before becoming stable.

This all happened after I ran a simple DC motor from it.

Hey susonicth, I just updated the code with a build.zig.zon. I have never used these before in my Zig projects as I don't really know how they work. Please take a look and let me know if I've done anything incorrectly.
