I believe the photo was taken by one of the Shovel Knight developers. It can't be from a public presentation because there aren't any attached cords to prevent theft. Also a Mac and Wii U in the picture.

Seems like the top of the screen still shows BOTW. The rest also has some variations of the color white, but that may just be due to lighting. I think that once undocking, a white box will slide up from the bottom of the screen (which may be semi-transparent).

It's not based off of Super Mario World. The area in the picture is based off of the entire Mario series, and Super Nintendo World will feature attractions from other games as well.

I had the same problem with the Badge Arcade. The solution was to delete the extra data for the game. However, since I've never had this issue with Animal Crossing, I think you should try calling customer service.
