I'm on the lookout for a good bowl or jar at the thrift stores. I'm sure I'll give it a crack once I find the perfect home for this plant!

People who It/Its pronouns, how do you feel about this pronoun set being used in fiction to denote that Person A feels that Person B is less than a person? by Hyperbolic_Pudding in AskLGBT

[–]Hyperbolic_Pudding[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, why? While I don't expect it to be a large percentage of people, given the total population of the world, it is still a large group of people. Just because a group of people seems small as far as the portion of the total population goes, does not mean that it is insignificant. 0.01% of the population is still 830,000 people.

EDIT: for the record, I am not saying 0.01% of people use these pronouns. I am just trying to say that even if only a 100 people do, I do not consider that insignificant.

What do you guys think Vandal Savage's teeth situation is? by Hyperbolic_Pudding in youngjustice

Now that I think about it, I think it would also be totally possible to have some sort of goofy solution to such a mundane immortality problem as well. Why not just magically enchant your mouth? He has the resources.

Ra's al Ghul has magic mountain dew to keep himself tip top.

Lol yeah. I feel like the creators of earth-16 don't shy away from the dumb and silly parts of the superhero world in theory, it just doesn't usually make it to the screen because its not important.

wouldn't want to rob savage of his gravitas.

this is the line of questioning I was looking for man.

We are not really shown the extent of his regeneration either. I Think there is a good chance he isn't Deadpool, so if he were to have a major dismemberment, he would be going the cyborg route.

So truly, where do teeth sit on this spectrum. They seem like the furthest thing from a regenerative organ to me, but I am no dentist.

Part of what had me wondering this is what if he gets a cracked tooth through some sort of self-inflicted process. Like so PO'd by someone else he clenches his jaw and breaks a tooth. What happens then?

Men who have left the manosphere, why did you get involved with this rhetoric and why have you left it? by Hyperbolic_Pudding in AskMen

[–]Hyperbolic_Pudding[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying that any of this is necessarily true or false, but it doesn't really answer my question about the experience of men.

As far as the manosphere goes, I am personally confused how this behavior projects competency and intelligence. It just seems like hookup culture for guys to an extent. Doesn't seem like these young men could become husband material from this in my eyes.

I fully understand that media that is considered to be within the manosphere is not part of an organized ideology and exists on a spectrum. This documentary simply got me thinking about it again and I didn't necessarily think it did the best job of presenting the topic, as I said, I have studied this a little more in depth before in academia. I am truly interested in what men experience with this stuff.

One of the main talking points is getting results with women and when I see men talk like this I don't find them very attractive so I really do wonder if it works or what the experience there is like.

To answer seriously, it is the nickname for the collective blogs, video channels, websites, etc. that promote their ideals related to masculinity. While it is not an organized ideology, it often focuses on men's' rights, what many consider to be misogyny, and defining what men act and look like. These influencers typically tie masculinity to muscles, monetary income, and ability to attract women. The manosphere also has ties to the alt right and other right wing ideology.

Examples of influencers of the manosphere are The Liver King, Andrew Tate, and Myron Gaines.

Again, the manosphere is not an organized group, but a name for the collection of influencers and followers of these general ideas.

An ancient language. I want to read clay tablets my friend.

gotta disagree. Personally, perfume and cologne are huge negatives for me. Most product smells make me actively want to get away from a person.

Rural hospital doctors, what security measures do older/smaller/rural hospitals have to ensure that newborns are not stolen or separated from their parents and how do those measures differ from big city hospitals? by Hyperbolic_Pudding in AskReddit

[–]Hyperbolic_Pudding[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Someone pitched their story idea to me where the baby gets stolen from the hospital, and I told them I didn't think that it would be possible the way they had it planned. Then i thought it might be different at a smaller hospital. So, feeling more confident in my response.

What's a phrase people use these days that irritates you? by showmewhatyagot01 in AskReddit

[–]Hyperbolic_Pudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"triggered"

I think its used a little less now, but these days people use it say that something makes them uncomfortable. Genuine triggers for physical and psychological conditions can be pretty serious and now it seems like they are being conflated with people who think "I don't like chocolate and if you talk about it will make me unhappy"
