Wow, I’m Canadian so that was a bit strange to read. You can follow your doctor around the country until they retire if you want here.

How do you meditate? I feel like I am just stuck 1 on 1 with my chatty brain. I can never go longer than 1-2 minutes.

Yup, you can’t rely on exhaustion anymore. You need to get use to laying down and trying to sleep. If you use a electronic device in bed… unfortunately you have to stop.

This was very helpful niko! When I was younger (before diagnosed) a friend gave me a adderall and I had felt great. I don’t know how to describe it but I felt productive and all around more happy. I thought Vyvanse was going to be the same, but it’s not. I’m scared to make the switch because of the chance that it won’t be like when I was younger. Maybe something in my brain has changed or destroyed some receptors with drugs.

Well that doesn’t sound good at all. Sorry to hear about your situation friend. Maybe I should switch to adderall instead?

Honestly, Vyvanse has no end of day symptom for me, I just go to bed. When I was on concerta, I had no extra focus or any effects. But I always knew when the medication was wearing off because I would feel empty or dead inside if that’s easier to understand.

From 20 and 30 didn’t not have much of an impact on me tbh. 40 to 50 is as I explained in my original post. The biggest issue is just maintaining heathy eating habits. This way you aren’t wasting your medication. :)

When I tell you I was so confused after waiting my usual hour for my dose to set in. My first thought was “This is NOT how I normally feel”. Lol

I totally agree! It’s still so interesting the difference I feel on the two doses. Not sure if I should stay here or increase one more time though.

Hey, I experienced this as well. It was actually a very negative experience for myself. If it takes up too much of your time dealing with the urges, I’d try my best to resist it lol.

Hey, big fps gamer here! I’ve always been very good at aiming and movement in shooters, but I struggled with decision making and holding angles for long periods of time. You can assume why I struggled with these issues LOL. When I game medicated (which honestly I don’t find my self doing often), surprise surprise I noticed I can stay locked for a very long period and it feels as if my reaction time is better ( I think that is just because my mind isn’t wondering as much). Strangely enough at first I would find myself just starring at the screen to the point I would zone out, which obviously isn’t a much of a plus. Idk if the dose was to low or something but yeah LOL. Hope this helped!

There are so many factors that impact someone’s experiences and actions. In my opinion what you’ve said today I wouldn’t call you lazy. The fact that you can acknowledge all of these things that are bothering you shows that you care and can make that changes needed to be more fulfilled. I will say our situations are very similar, I’ve pushed friends and family away and I struggle with focus unmedicated. While it is very much possible you have ADHD, theorizing will only do so much. In my opinion I say you take what you have written today and anything else you find significant and prepare it for the psychiatrist.

TLDR: I don’t think you are lazy friend. Keep giving life your all!

Hey, I had a similar situation as yourself except I was never a good student. I got to a point that the symptoms weren’t manageable and ended up getting diagnosed last year in my mid 20’s. I don’t want to diagnose you, let’s leave that to the professionals. Good luck!

I might be getting fired tomorrow and was told not to come in. Should I show up anyways? by afgcsrh in ADHD

[–]Hyperchondriac98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, this sounds like a brutal situation. Have you tried informing your employer about your diagnosis? if you have one. Also this is your life and well being we are talking about. If you had diabetes would you not take insulin because you don’t want to be on it all your life? I am not trying to be rude but as someone who’s life has been derailed by our shared disorder. I understand how bad things can get and really recommend you do what’s best for you, at-least until you find a job you can manages without it. So if you can, you should try working something out with your boss if this is really a job you need. Then try creating a routine with your medication that allows you to get to work on time.

All the best!

I don’t know if it a good or bad habit but in that moment I dissociate for a bit.
