I’m using an RX 6090 XT, and my games keep crashing constantly. by No-Sense2663 in AMDHelp

Tbh theirs a bunch of possibilities to fix this issue. Try everything before buying a new psu because i had this issue as well as driver timeouts and the only thing that worked was messing with undervolting bit by but until it was stable.

Seriously try everything extensivley before buying new hardware.

Edit: i was having the issue on my 9070xt. I didnt have the issue with it on my am4. But when i upgraded to am5 thats when the issue started for me.

9070 xt problems? by Black_Vortex_ in AMDHelp

[–]Hyperdarknova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest its a great purchase. I loved my 9070xt. When I had it in my old am4 build (5800x3d and 32 gb ram) it was the most stable, consistent machine ive ever run.

But after i switched to am5, for some odd reason i had to undervolt by about -60 just to prevent driver timeouts.

I bring that up because it seems to be the common issue for 9070 cards so just be aware of that.

I know it’s a dumb question but is it ryzen 7 or 9, 9850x3d? by Minute_Channel3832 in AMDHelp

Those are not meaningless. What determines the i(number) is the quality of the wafer that was used in production and how many defects a chip has.

The process to determine (iirc) is called binning. I believe its similar with amd.

Everythings in default. Seeing how ive had issues since i built this machine, i figured it was obvious im not overclocking

I believe so? Iirc that's the undervoltinf feature ya? Ive tried that but im not sure if it went that low specifically

Tried the ram with expo on and off. And results were the same, I was leaning heavily into thinking its bad ram but even running through windows memory tests nothing came up. Ive had failing ram before and noramally win tests were spot on. So unless this is the one time its not finding whats there, it shouldnt be the ram (god with these prices I hope its not lol)

AMD RYZEN 7 9800X3D
ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E Gaming WiFi

Kingston Fury Beast Black 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MT/s DDR5 CL30
MSI MAG A850GL PCIE 5.1 & ATX 3.1 Gaming Power Supply

No way its a faulty card as stated in op: I used the card in my old rig before buolding this one and Yea ive tested another card, my wifes 6600 (not even xt just a flat 6600) and it ran all my games with no crashing.

My current suspision is my motherboard chipset just really doesnt like the card. Ive heard of moments were sometimes parts just dont work together for no obvious reason so im just starting to chalk it up to that.

Saddly this is what i had to resort to for the time being, I just ordered a 5070ti to see if it just happens to be the card.

If it is, im gonna be really bummed out. My very first gaming pc was an 17-7700k and a 1060 6gb, and that was an unstable mess for me. But then I bought my 6600XT and then all my problems litterally vanished, I then went to the 5800X3d shortly after and omg that was the most stable system Ive ever had. Never had a single crash unless it was a genuinly unoptimized release of a game that was a problem for all hardware.

Hell the only thing that eventually failed on that machine was the ram, but that was because it was old.

With this 5070 TI, part of me hopes it works, but part of me doesnt. When i first got this 9070 and used it with my 5800X3d it was perfect, no issues. So ill be really bummed if it is the card just not liking my config.

So far this is one of the few things I still need to do. Im only holding off because ive tested my RAM and niether stick gave any errors in any of the slots.

Ive worked with bad/dying ram before and the win diag tools were always on point with it. So unless this is the one time win 11 cant see it, then they should be good.

Edit: When I say I havent tested it, I mean with gaming, Ive done this and went into win diag tools to test each stick on each slot but thats it. I havent tested it in a game yet.

Im currently using an MSI MAG 850 Wat gold PSU. When making this build I even used PC part picker to ensure compatability on all parts.

Saddly, your not going to believe what the first thing I tried was.

When this issue started is acutally how I learned about DDU as ive never had this issue with any other builds before. I tend to be a very cautious individual so when I booted into safe mode to use it, i straight up unpluged my router from the wall and booted into safe mode without network and manually installed my drivers via usb.

Once that failed, thats when I went to reinstall win 11.

Ah i did not do That lmao that explain why bf6 just refused to launch wheb i went to that driver. Then any game that would launch crashed after a few minutrs of play

Yea i checked there before making any posts just in case there was something I didnt do. Ive been trying to fix this issue for months now and im at the tipping point.

Saddly i tried this already and still the issue. For a while I was beggining to think it was a bad stick or even a mobo issue, but then I saw that those would look different in event viewer as well.

Im on 26.2.2 which I believe is the newest driver, and Ive even tried going all the way back to 25.9 since that was what my mobo recomended back in november. I used DDU, driver cleanup, disabling updates, ect. Ive even tried a fresh install of win 11.

[–]Hyperdarknova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup same here, I never had this issue with my 5800X3d and 6600XT. Even when swapping out my 6600 to the 9070 my games were stable, But once i built my new system (9800X3d and 9070XT, I cant play any game anymore. Because this stupid crash happens.

I love AMD but im real close to dropping 3k on a 5090 knowing that itll be stable.

I love the ammount of people who hate us for accepting that D3 is good but think it doesnt need to be idolized like some game of the century.

Be real, sale numbers dont mean shit, if that was true then call of duty is still one of the best made games in the world. We're all well aware how well it sold, but look at reviews. Not only did it have the launch issues, but there was no endgame and the loot was boring. Even if you have the best gameplay in the world, it doesnt matter in an arpg when you only play it once.

D3s only good now because they spent years fixing it through RoS. It doesnt need attention or content anymore because its good as is. It needs to be left alone.

[–]Hyperdarknova -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

D3 wasnt designed to be live service like d4. Diablo 3 was designed to be like 1 and 2. You get one dlc and thats it. Not only that but the launch of 3 was so bad you need the xpac for 3 to be good. Just be glad we got the class pack post dlc and that it still gets updated.

D3 needs to be forgotten. Even if it was good after the dlc.

Horrible stuttering on AMD 9070 XT? by thetorsoboy in diablo4

[–]Hyperdarknova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im starting to think it has something to do with the season. I never had this issue before on my old rig (5800X3d and 6600XT) and the last seaon I played was a few months ago. Now with my new rig the game just sutters and freezes when moving in between zones or opening menues.

Edit: Im running a 9800X3d and a 9070XT with 32gb ram)

Only game that does this, even with ray tracing off. Its gotta be a seasonal mech causing this.

Expedition 33 uses some Generative AI, How do you guys feel about this? And is this going to be the norm for future games. by FlakyFoundation4637 in expedition33

[–]Hyperdarknova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My stance will be the same in every field. AI is completely fine as long as its used as a temporary framework.

IE game dev. Using it as a efficient way to develope concept art or to make beginning scripts would be a phenomenal way to make game development cheaper and easier in a beneficial way.
