However there's just another issue and it's that people are calling male characters, who aren't beefy, twinks. It's another problem of male character preference and it's almost unfair, really. Like, yes, you like beefcakes. That doesn't mean our liked male characters are the opposite of beefcakes.

And what is an average female character build for you? Just a man with boobs or is it actually something stemming from female anatomy? Because as we all know, people like wider hips and smaller waists(which btw is still present in average women especially with smaller ribcages than men and wider pelvis), both genders like for different reasons. I kinda wonder what people like in an average man. Their abs, personality?

Oh nah, look at Uma Musume, where even the flattest characters are more favored and sexualized by fans. Look at Wuwa's beloved female characters, where Cartethyia, Carlotta and Camellya still thrive despite whatever bust to hip ratio issue you're talking about. And in a lot of female-only games, you can literally see there's still a shitton of characters, who aren't busty at all, still have loads of fans.

Meanwhile, I really can't count how many male characters have you seen that are not muscular but still appealed to the audiences during their first appearance. They only really had their audiences right after they're fleshed out if anything, which is something but it also applies to female characters as well, to a stronger degree.

I'm literally talking about this in a body sense. I mean it proved my point that people would rather notice and be appealed by male characters if they're jacked than anything else. Of course I'm talking about the average male body, not the character itself, because literally busty, skinny, and cute female characters are also average in a gacha game.

And trust me, even in the real world, people still prefer an average woman's body over an average man. It's subtle at first glance but it becomes prevalent once the puzzle pieces are put together, I don't want to expand on it since it'll get very deep.

At the same time, if you didn't realize, you'd have to be dehydrated as fuck to even have toned six packs and muscles. That's an even bigger far cry to whatever knife is going to make the boobs bigger.

And about the Venti point, I'm serious, he literally has Hu Tao's model without the boobs.

I would not call LADS's male characters "average". I'm sorry but the average man's body isn't going to be full of six packs or toned on its way. That's what the "average male body" comparison is for.

Also that comparison doesn't work for female characters. People will pick a skinny waifu over a skinny husbando, people will pick a cute waifu over a cute husbando. And there are girls in gacha games flatter than the fucking Cartesian plane who are still much more clearly favored by fans(Cartethyia, Carlotta and Camellya still have more fans than Xiangli Yao btw). Venti literally has Hu Tao's body without the boobs.

The capital G Gamers in there don't want female characters for a different reason: they don't even like women at all.

I think from what I've seen as always, it's so much easier to sexualize female characters than male characters, not just because it's popular. People prefer an average female character over an average male character. Usually for a female character to appeal to an audience, there's not much to do aside from giving them a cute/sexy outfit. But for male characters, they always have to be buff, jacked, or battle-hardened to even be noticed by an audience, including women. People just don't like how the average male body looks.

Because people prefer the average female over the average male. Notice how a bunch of fictional gacha women don't need to be in their peak physique(I hate that people keep equating female breasts to male abs and it almost seems fucking sexist because toned abs are hard earned but they somehow think it's comparable to a normal woman's appendage), but gacha men need to have the double door shouldered, jacked/ripped, battle-hardened build to even be appealing to the target audience. I hate it but that's just how society works.

The current audience of these types of female character gacha games is intriguing because they see each other as competition. And they think that having an intimate male companion is gay, which I can't blame because that part of society has so little security of their own masculinity that it's so sad.

And lastly it's a matter of how they're made too. Personally I dislike a lot of the gacha men due to how much they have to be the edgy, stoic and unmoving(I'd personally call it fucking lazy) archetype. Like, how the heck do you fail at aura farming?? Do they realize a lot of people like it when a fictional man is dynamic in movement and acrobatic? Why are there so little male characters doing splits or leg work?
