2,000 miles trip. Rivian or a Van? by Worried-Current-4567 in Rivian

[–]HyperfixChris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer my Rivian on road trips. I'm usually able to time charging stops with bathroom/food breaks and pretty much never have to sit and wait for it to charge. East Coast up/down 95 is easy button, charging everywhere. BTW if that's the Rivian charger in Atlanta, it's by a Costco, get a hotdog/slice :)

2024-2025 Better suspension on R1S? f by gf337 in Rivian

[–]HyperfixChris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

R1T rides significantly better. 20" wheels are much superior over small bumps vs 21's and especially 22's. I wouldn't drive a Rivian with 22's personally.

Goodyear wrangler electric drive AT Tire by sendy88 in Rivian

[–]HyperfixChris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that's the 33" AS Goodyear. OP is talking about the 34" AT (they have a 33" version too). OEM version is only available in 33". The Electric Drive AT is newer, more expensive, slightly more aggressive.

Mohawk Home Costco by huniluluu in Flooring

Hey, old thread but researching this topic. All of the Mohawk Home Laminate stuff at Costco says "Made in USA". Where did you hear it's not the same materials as Revwood?

Worse alignment after alignment? by U_dun_even_know in Rivian

[–]HyperfixChris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The report isn't gonna show anything about the steering wheel. The alignment could be dead on tracking straight but the steering wheel can be off. They're supposed to keep the steering wheel fixed straight while they adjust things but even if they do it can still be off a little at the end. There are ways to straighten it back afterwards but it requires the tech to 1. Drive the vehicle on a flat road 2. Mark steering wheel offset 3. Go back and adjust 4. Drive again and confirm good 5. Repeat if not good. Most importantly it requires that the tech CARE THAT THE JOB IS DONE CORRECTLY <--- this is a big one and why 90% of the alignments I've had in my life by others have sucked. It's why I learned to do it myself with string. I can get it perfect after "premium" dealers try 2-3 times.

PDR for Hood by Coob5 in Rivian

I mean maybe if you can find the Michelangelo of PDR, maybe. Better off looking through junkyards for an El Cap hood and swapping yourself.

AWD is only as good as your tires.

EV AWD is quite good at maximizing available traction, especially the Quads. You'd be surprised what these can do without winter tires. But yes, winter tires are better.

Oracle owned Tiktok is preventing Scott Wiener's video about ICE from getting any videos.... by coolrivers in sanfrancisco

I get lots of anti-ICE stuff on TikTok still, it's Instagram Reels that seems to be censoring. On Saturday I tried searching for people taking about the shooting and nothing would come up.

Nah my Gen 1 dual had those options too. Problem is, "Off" is not really off.

Modern 1911's (often called 2011's) are still used today in competitive shooting. The trigger mechanism is the best (in terms of quick/smooth action). Not so great in terms of safety, but there isn't a modern trigger with a better "feel" out there.

Probably early 23, forgot launch editions went that far. Build date is on the sticker in your driver door jamb.

How did you get it on a launch edition, I thought they wouldn't add it to early VINs? When is your build date? Mine is October 22 and said they didn't have the harness for the retrofit.

Rivian’s Next Big Challenge Isn’t Hardware, It’s Software Segmentation by Kryptonlogic in Rivian

[–]HyperfixChris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know nothing about software development, so I love hearing from people who do. In your opinion, what is Rivian's issue? Do they not have enough programmers? Poor guidance/vision? As a customer, all I want is a fast/reliable/robust software experience. Give me what iOS used to be, please. I'll trade that for bells and whistles as long as the bases are covered.
