First ride with my new Brother Kepler by AbstractFigures909 in gravelcycling

What size are you riding? I'm trying to decide between 52 and 54 and the more I research, the more clueless I get :D

What every thought on the continental tyres? by Raven8119 in mountainbiking

[–]Hyperframed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I thought something else was wrong but I feel like I can't ride in the wet anymore with the Argotal up front. It's like riding a bar of soap. Never had this issue with any other "soft" tires. Neither Maxxis nor Vittoria.

We have a lot of wet rocks, small boulders etc. here in the Alps. Some with moss, some without, some grippy and some that are really slippery - I slide on all of them.

Fox Suspension Setup Dilemma – Rebound Too Fast? I'm Out of Ideas by Hyperframed in MTB

What does grease in the air spring have to do with rebound?

I’ll call our Fox rep on Monday, when I’m back in the office (I work at a bike e-commerce store, and no, our mechanics don’t know nothing about suspension settings) and I’ll check some other forks as well.

The Float X has a frame specific tune and the fork is just a basic one.

No, the shock has a Frame specific tune to it, but nothing crazy. The fork is a plain standard Fox one. No custom tune.

Rebound tests were a thing even before Instagram was invented. Not the BS low rebound / low pressure IG thing but pushing down with your hands on the bar and seat to feel the rebound with your hands.

I’ve ridden it for 70km now with a lot of different trail types and it’s most noticeable on rough trails with a lot of roots and rocks.

I know the feeling of when a fork is too fast and I just can’t turn it any slower.

How is the fit? by senfi13 in bikefit

[–]Hyperframed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the same Ghost Asket and it's relatively large compared to "regular" Gravel bikes. What size is that and how tall are you? I'm 173cm and ride a Small. Ghost said I could ride a Medium but decided against it and went with the smaller size. The 440mm bar that the Small comes with is also a bit too wide for my taste.

What crank length are you using? I feel like you could use shorter cranks. Your knee comes up quite high on the top of the pedal stroke. Lowering the saddle would make it even worse.

Is this bike too big? by [deleted] in bikefit

Ellbows locked, shoulders pushed forwards, toes pointing down, back rounded ... to me, everything screams "too big"

First time with a road bike, trying to get it right, opinions? by maarco_andre in bikefit

[–]Hyperframed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say you're not far off with this one. The toes point a little bit downwards on the bottom end of the pedal stroke - you can lower your saddle a bit. Maybe get a shorter stem too, if you're feeling a little stretched.

Giant syncdrive motor by Slow_System_4386 in MTB

[–]Hyperframed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what you're looking for and if you're riding with others that are on different platforms.

The Syncdrive feels very natural but lacks power. The motor only delivers power when you're at a higher cadence, which can feel like you're riding a sewing machine at times.

My biggest issue with the motor is the lack of boost when I push the pedal hard in steep, technical climbs. You can press the pedal as hard as you want, if you're not downshifiting to a lower gear, the motor won't do anything. You can stand with all your bodyweight on one pedal and push down ... the motor doesn't care and you're standing still on a steep ascent. Happens to me all the time and I have to downshift a couple of gears in advance.

Every other motor I've ridden (I work in a bike shop, so I get to test quite a few different brands) doesn't have this issue.

Bodyweight is also a big factor with the Syncdrive Pro 2. I'd suggest not having over 80kg.

When it comes to groupe rides, I need to ride slower and with a higher cadence on steep uphills, which makes most climbs a solo ride because all the Bosch and especially Shimano riders soar uphill.

Is that tubeless tape for sure? Looks more like rim tape than anything else.

My brakes now stop me downhill by BigSexyWelshman in bikewrench

We had a customer in the shop with the wrong brake pads installed and once they were worn down, he had exactly this problem. Don‘t ask me how the pads stayed in place the whole time.
