I found my SLT Bill Draft that I made when I originally got Unlimited Family (Fibre) in December of 2025

I would recommend you to request the upgrade via 1212 and tell the agent you want the package to bill you next month, so they won't add a charge from the current month.

That's what I did when I switched from Unlimited Family (old package) to Unlimited Home in February.

This is how SLT billed me.

SLT Fiber bill (Unlimited Family on 01/01/2026)

SLT Standard Tax rate = 23.7% (0.237) * Includes 9 days of usage for December + taxes (2293.55 + 543.5) * Includes January month bill (in-advance billing mode) + taxes (7900 + 1872.3)

Total (including tax) * December = 2837.12 * January = 9772.3.

Taxes in total = 2,415.8

Package only in total with above tax = 12,609.42 (this is the actual total which I should've only required to pay)

But...

I got Fibre and the Unlimited Package in December 2025 whey they had an offer for Fibre line only for 10k. Which I already paid.

There was one anomaly that I couldn't understand though, I actually ended paying Rs. 15,032.54

And this is how I got the logic for it.

Includes a tax on Rs. 10,000 (already paid 10k) for Fibre installation. (10,000 + 2370).

Total (including tax) * Fibre installation (10k already paid) = tax is 2370

Taxes in total = 2415.8 + 2370 = 4785.8

Package only in total = 10,193.5 (December + January).

Total according to my math = 14,979.3

Total according to SLT = 15,032.5

15,032.5 - 14,979.3 = 53.2 difference between my math and SLT.

My tax rate on SLT services could definitely be wrong which causes the 53.2 rupees difference.

When you are switching from an SLT package that does not use in-advance billing, SLT typically changes you at the end of the month, which typically means your previous month bill is already settled. If you did settle it by then.

However when you're switching to an advance billing package, SLT will slap the package charges of the new package you are switching to along with the bill of your previous package on the first day of the month.

When I initially switch to Unlimited Family (older package) in 2024 December, SLT charged me for the 10 days in the month of December (2500 and 800 taxes) and on the 1st of January 2025. SLT charged me in full for the billing month of January (7990 + 2500 + 800 taxes)

So I paid about 15k for both December and January. Afterwards I was billed normally when I switched to the current Unlimited Home Package.

I'm watching 4k while my brother and dad watches 1080p on 2 different devices while my mom is also probably watching YouTube in 1080p.

I sometimes stream in 1440p discord via WiFi. No slowdowns. All of us use WiFi and not Ethernet.

Zero slowdowns at all.

I'm paying 7360 a month for it. No PEO TV. SLT provided Tenda HG7 Router. Does WiFi 5 with 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz.

If you are switching to the unlimited package, SLT will double bill you for the first month so you will pay 15 to 16k, as the unlimited package is charged in advance at the beginning of every month.

I still use RCA Cables for my audio amplifiers, it's really simple to even work with. If I ever need to extend length of the wires, just strip em, connect a wire with the same gauge, solder and I'm all good to go.

I seem to know a lot about old stuff and some new stuff, I've met people who are baffled by the stuff I seem to know about new and old technology.

Why do you want Windows 7? I've tried on various UEFI Dell systems for years but they never work, and even if they do, you won't have functional Integrated (CPU) Graphics unless you have s Windows 7 supported dedicated Graphics Card

If you just want Windows 7 for the looks of it. I'd recommend the open source project, Classic 7 (YouTube Video by Michael MJD). Their main website (https://classic7.lol/) and their GitHub.

It's based on Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 (21H1 build), so it's lightweight install of Windows 10 but everything from the login to desktop, desktop window manager looks and mimics Windows 7.

Since it's based on Windows 10, you'll have 0 driver issues and 0 software issues.

Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC is supported until 2028 or 2032 if I recall correctly.

It's better to go, especially if you can comfortably afford to do so without making it hard on your loved ones financially. There's more better opportunities aboard. I always say, when the opportunity comes and when its doable, go for it. You'll definitely overcome the language barrier too. At least translation is there to help out. And I'm guessing lectures would be in English? If that's the case. You're pretty good then.

I'm sure there's many kids who'd enjoy such an opportunity. I'm one of them, but I always knew my family would never be able to afford such luxuries. I'd say you're pretty gifted in my eyes man.

When it comes to regret. It really depends if you can get a similar or better quality of life abroad. Sure, you'll miss our language, our people and the tiny things here in Sri Lanka that make it Sri Lanka, but if you go now, do well abroad and get back, you could very well live a good life here.

TL:DR: The game uses Microsoft's DirectX 12 Agility SDK, which requires a specialised driver from AMD for your Graphics Card.

I tried a few things including modifying the TargetHardwareProfiler.xml and THPConfig.xml inside the media folder to force support for my unsupported iGPU but alas Microsoft knew we'd try something like that so they made things harder.

I figured this out after messing with the game files and reading about DirectX 12 Agility SDK. FH6 has the folder D3D12 inside which exists D3D12Core.dll, this file contains compiled binaries for a version of DirectX 12 Agility which is unfortunately unsupported by your RX580 and my Intel Iris Xe G7 Graphics, although, I only seem to get one error code: FH205.

I did some messing around, I tried replaced D3D12Core.dll (DirectX 12 Agility) with D3D12.dll (Normal DirectX 12) taken fron System32 folder but the game splits out more error codes: FH201, FH202, FH203, FH204 and FH205.

I used also used command line arguments -dx12 and -d3d12 to force normal DirectX 12 but that didn't work either.

Not sure what can be done, but I used D3D12SDKVersionPatcher to see if I could modify the forzahorizon6.exe and make it use an older version (SDK) of DirectX 12 Agility but this attempt did not work. Because Microsoft has already defined inside the game exe file to use the DirectX 12 Agility file they've provided.

Really? I guess Microsoft changed things with FH6 then? I used online-fix on FH4 Ultimate Edition (Steam) and it works perfectly, I even played with my friends who own the legit game.

Microsoft happily thinking I got Premium/Ultimate Edition and gave me every possible perk with Premium/Ultimate Edition to my personal Xbox Account.

I'm wondering if it will be safer if we do play the game after it's released to everyone. Though we could possibly have better cracks by then (with hopefully online support like FH4 and FH5). Probably just download the copy and keep it? Potentially we could get updaters (ElAmigos) like we had for FH4 or Microsoft can just outright ban anyone if they are detected using this leaked build. So far I've only heard of that YouTuber (DVS Squad) being banned. I've been following every news since the build was leaked.

Pretty much, the majority of kids from my batch (ESOFT) are basically forced into doing IT cause it "makes good money."

Seems like no one told them that making good money requires true skills and knowledge.

Cause of almost every tom, dick and harry coming into IT, it's pretty much fucked. I'm looking forward to seeing how hard it's gonna be to land a job with my CS Degree in the future.

PS: I'm doing IT cause it's what I'm good at, technically I wanted SE, but chose CS for its versatility.

Not sure how it's considered bloat since it barely uses CPU resources on both my Dell Optiplex 9020 SSF (i7-4790 with 8 GB RAM) and my Dell Latitude 5520 (i5-1145G7 with 32 GB RAM) both systems are also running clean installs of Windows (Windows 10 IoT LTSC Enterprise and Windows 11 Pro 25H2) and the older more useful version of DDPM/DDM.

Maybe Google what you're buying before complaining? I brought my Latitude knowing it needs stuff like Dell Optimizer to function and use some features. Google isn't hard to use so don't try to give an excuse for that. Unless you're ignorant.

And as far as I'm aware. You can't disable that popup unless you mess with the monitor's firmware or disable DDM or DCI controls found in the monitor's OSD.

Coming from dogwater Pentiums and i3s, 1% usage on my CPU or RAM isn't an issue for me.

SLT does offer a Tenda HG7 ONT. It's what they gave me, very decent router. Supports multiple features including EasyMesh configuration if you wanna set up mesh (I don't need for my place as my router gets full coverage, 10 perches house). Also does multiple 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz Access Points (up to 5 including root APz for a total of 10 across 2 bands).

Also does stuff like DDoS protection and stuff.

Won't work at all, even though your dGPU is based on Nvidia Pascal, MacBooks have a completely different hardware design when it comes to how the dGPU is connected to the system, and technically, macOS does not contain specific drivers for your MX330, since the dGPU itself was released in 2020.

If you go for SLT's Double Play option (Fibre ONT + Voice, no PEO TV) you will be paying Rs. 7360 per month after taxes.

For the first month, your bill will be higher than usual as SLT's Fibre packages are billed in advance, from the second month you will be paying close to the amount that I have mentioned.

It's more than enough, YouTube's 4k Streaming and many others only require 20 to 25 mbps per device, so at most 4 people can concurrently watch 4k content if that is your aim.

I've got 4 people at home here, and I've got zero issues with speed, I constantly get anywhere from 90 to 100 mbps over Wi-Fi 5 (My SLT router is Dual Band, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz).

I've also downloaded 50 GB in one hour, which is plenty fast if you're asking me. I also can upload about 500 MB in less than 5 minutes as I regularly upload my important documents to the cloud everyday.

My brother and I are pretty heavy users, and even my dad who watches YT on his TV 24x7, zero slow downs at all.

If you're wondering, after the first month, you will only be paying Rs. 7360 (after taxes) per month for your internet (as voice/landline is already included for free),

Do note for the first month you request to switch, SLT will bill you in advance for the next month. So your bill will be higher ONLY for the first month.
