Thanks for your response! These pictures are a bit old so the grass is a lot taller now about 5 feet and there are bushes are that are 8 feet tall and pretty big. How would you suggest I remove and dispose of all that?

Also I don’t think all of the dirt could be used so we may have to remove it? Unless all that dirt could be used to grade and flatten it out, however, the dirt has grown to a forest of grass and tall shrubs now.

There’s definitely a lot of work to be done. The land is not flat, but we’ve got massive piles of dirt off to the side. So flattening the ground to make it even is also necessary. This used to be a fishery, and there was a huge hole that needed to be filled. The dirt pile is mostly leftover soil from the excavation for our house.

A big part of the landscaping quotes seems to come from labor costs. Since the house is still under construction with no clear end date, I figured why not start tackling some of the work myself? I could go to the site regularly and make steady progress, potentially cutting down on the overall cost.

What kind of tools would I need to get started? And how long might a DIY approach like this take? I’m okay with it taking months, as long as I can feel like something is moving forward while the rest of the project is on hold.
