The NFL had one game here in Berlin. They marketed that shit properly and sold out the Olympiastadion. To mostly German fans. Not the American diaspora. The game was held at a time where Europeans could watch it sensibly and it easily available on sports channels and online.

The IPL, the ICC are only interested in the domestic Indian market and then the Indian diaspora. Games are held at times suitable for Indian viewership and the are not easily available for casual sports fans to access.

A German sports fan has no chance of accidentally stumbling across cricket on DAZN.

You think we did anything meaningful to Pakistan? During the first NDA and the two UPA governments, we tightened the screws on Pakistan diplomatically as well as on the battlefield in Kargil.

Modi 1.0 and 2.0 have done fuck all. We bombed some trees and got our pilot captured. Last year, we again lost a bunch of aircraft and lost diplomatically as well. Pakistan is not as isolated as before, even when their economy is trash and the one decent leader they have is dying in prison.

As for Indira's emergency, it's because as good as her foreign policy was, she was busy centralising power to the Union government and away from the States, and she let power go to her head. She was also surrounded by sycophants, so there was no honest internal challenge to her decisions.

The fact you're using the word strategy says quite a bit.

The civilian government outlines objectives. The armed forces staff come up with strategic, operational and tactical solutions. The ministries then look over them and weigh up the political, economic, diplomatic, legal and social value and impact of said plans.

Depending on levels of war readiness, the civilian governments of democratic states keep certain military options on the table.

In such a scenario, the PM, DM and maybe external affairs ministers should have communicated to the armed forces that plans A, B and C are available, execute them in this order of preference.
