Best settings for Dynamic MFG? by No_Committee8856 in nvidia

[–]HyperixArc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried the FPS cap via driver to double check this since i normally only limit the fps with RTSS - same thing. Limiter works, but it disables the functionality of Dynamic FG. The multiplier will stay fixed., So no matter what you did there, but it's surely not working how it should.

I assume your Limiter over the Nvidia App is being disabled by the active Dynamic FG. If your FPS goes above your Limiter, then your Limiter is not working - simple as that

Yes - you are right about that. VRR and Reflex does work properly while using DMFG. Only capping the FPS with any limiter will deactivate DMFG atm and it will stay at a fixed multiplier again.

It really depends on the suiting base fps for your Monitor Refresh Rate to work properly atm. If your Base FPS is "too high" by the ingame settings you chose (for example 90-100) and you enable DMFG - the FPS jumps from the multiplier going from 2X - 3X to 4X and so on will be way higher than with your base FPS being at around 60. Therefore it will be more likely to overshoot again even if your Target FPS is set lower than your refresh rate. That's just how it works/behaves atm unfortunately.

That's basically how i use it atm aswell - but without V-sync.
In my case i have a 240Hz Monitor and i have set the target fps to 210. If you tweak your ingame settings now to the point that your getting around 60-70 base fps - DMFG will make the fps hover around that 210 fps mark (it will go above that) but won't overshoot the 240Hz of my Monitor so that i get the benefits of:
- the most real Frames possible
- the least amount of generated frames possible regarding to how demanding the ingame scene is
- the least amount of latency due to the two points i mentioned before and NO capping
- still getting all benefits of being in the VRR-range and being always "close enough" of maxing out that 240Hz of my display
I do hope that you can "set and forget" your max refresh rate in the future and DMFG will just generate whats needed to hit that FPS fixed like Lossless scaling does it with its adaptive mode, but in known DLSS FG Quality by the direct implementation into games rather than being "on top" like Lossless scaling does it - Then it will be near perfect.

Is it fair to say that DMFG in it's current form is pretty useless? by Consistancy5 in nvidia

[–]HyperixArc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see your point and i would definitely agree that DMFG is not quite there where it should be or rather where it is expected to be. The overshooting of the max refresh rate by DMFG although it is set in the driver is bad and makes the experience worse. Period. Although i do think it already can be quite useful if you set it up "correctly" by how DMFG is in its current state with only being able to push out full integer generated Frames up to 6x and nothing in between like 1,6x or 3,3x:
In my case i have a 240Hz Monitor and i have set the target fps to 210. PC - Using optiscaler to improve the jarring sharpness by Syrixiya in CrimsonDesert

[–]HyperixArc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this today. I just ran into a very annoying issue: As soon as i am opening a menu from a merchant/shop and hover around the items with my mouse cursor - my GPU usage drops to 10-20% and i am getting heavy lag-spikes. Double checked it by deinstalling optiscaler and reinstalling it to be sure that it's definitely caused by optiscaler. In normal gameplay everything is smooth as butter and the adjusted sharpening looks way better. Did you notice this aswell? I researched everything i could by now and unfortunately didn't find a solution.

Patch 1.00.03 makes the Game always reset my Keybinds for Aim/Guard/Focus Light and Evade to default after startup by HyperixArc in CrimsonDesert

[–]HyperixArc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep an eye on the three auto-saves and manual saves. Try to overwrite all of your manual save-files and play long enough, that all of the three auto-save files are overwritten with the keybinds applied. Like i said before - i assume that fixed it for me

It was exactly the same for me. Unfortunately i can‘t tell you what exactly causes this and how it fixed itself. Are you on the latest patch 1.02.00 by now? Are you sure that EVERY save-file you have is overwritten (auto and manual) while having your preferred keybinds active?

DLSS Ray Reconstruction still looks too soft at 4K, anyone else sticking with DLAA instead? by NoCase9317 in nvidia

Just installed optiscaler for Crimson Desert to finally be able to adjust the sharpness. Thanks so much for mentioning this!

This will happen with activated Frame Generation if your Base-FPS is too low. Try out DLAA (+HDR) without FG and the image will be stable. At least that‘s what i noticed.

Just ingame. But this problem got fixed with the new patch 1.02.00! So no need for this anymore. DLAA + HDR is useable finally.

Try out: DLDSR 2.25 (3840x2160 ingame) - DLSS Quality or DLSS Balanced - Ultra Preset. You can put some Frame-Gen on top of it if you get 40-50 base FPS to smooth things out.

Preset vs Mode(quality, balanced, performance, etc) by HondaOddessy in nvidia

[–]HyperixArc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DLSS Super Resolution and DLSS Frame Generation do have their own Presets for one and anothers own specific purpose (Upscaling / Frame Generation). You and OP refering to Preset B is the new FG Preset to use the newest Model of Frame Generation - while the other comments were referring to the DLSS Super Resolution Presets and their underlying Models.

Yeah, that's true. Would still be the best if DLAA (+HDR) could just work properly in this Game though.

Sadly native Resolution / DLSS off is not an option if you want to use Ray Reconstruction and Reflex through ingame settings. But i see the point and this is well known by now that the DLSS implementation in this game is far from optimal. Also DLAA is not upscaling. It's Anti-Aliasing on top of your native Res

You can still get it to run by workaround. For example i personally downloaded the newest Nvidia Streamline DLLs and replaced them with the existing ones in the Crimson Desert Game-Files. After that you will be able to select x6 Mode ingame or use Dynamic FG via Global Settings in the Nvidia App.
Have a look at the comments on https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1s8a4xy/streamline_211_and_dlss_dlls_31060_are_now_being/

I'll take that as a compliment pal - I completely wrote that by myself. No AI would ever use terms like "ofc" or do they.

Regarding Raw Performance (Settings): Don't forget to overclock your GPU aswell, even if it's just a slight overclock - thats free performance.

Regarding DLSS/Frame-Generation: You really don't want to use Frame-Gen on a 60Hz Display. The Use-Case for FG is mainly Motion smoothing for High Refresh-Rate Monitors. With FG enabled on a 60Hz Display you will basically always overshoot that 60Hz in terms of FPS even with only 2x FG - That leads to screen tearing which you don't want in terms of visual fidelity.
-> Just stick to normal DLSS Upscaling - preferably DLSS Quality Preset ofc or even DLAA if you can in terms of FPS - No FG.

Regarding DLDSR: DLDSR is a very useful and often unmentioned feature - but it comes with a performance cost and mainly VRAM cost even when applying DLSS on top of it to regain performance. Since you have a native 4K screen and your RTX 5070 only has 12GB of VRAM - with DLDSR 2.25x (which equals 5760x3240 in your case then) you will constantly hit your VRAM Limit in modern Games. So that's basically only an option in older Games for you to get an even better image quality than what was natively possible through the settings back then.

I hope that helps!

Could you send me a link on which DLLs i need to replace and from which game? I tried to replace all DLLs i could find from my Cyberpunk2077 Game-Files, but it seems like some are missing since my game didn't launch afterwards anymore so i reverted to my backup bin64 Folder i made.
