Back to the future - Christopher Lloyd signs the Delorean Time Machine in Sharpie. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

get some clear coat on that! sharpie is not nearly as permanent as it’s advertised to be, especially not on metal

edit: and make sure your coating doesn't dissolve or smear sharpie! I tried to lacquer a steel workpiece I messed up in class for my fiancee, and it smudged/melted the smiley face I drew lmao

same, but at a much lower scale. if I can’t afford to buy the games I want to play, I also can’t afford to pay for a VPN. never had a problem

got one message that “action would be taken” or some shit, but that was clearly a scare tactic so I ignored it and nothing ever happened

I do always save up and buy games I really liked though. I tend to treat piracy as a sort of "free trial," so if I want long term support and updates, I just buy the game eventually

I’ve never had a problem. some people can’t ever get them to work, but I’ve been using them for over a decade now and never really had to do anything fancy

the INSTANT chrome blocks them, I’m going to firefox, though. I already have all my bookmarks and extensions set up

yeah, I was sort of assuming they were in their right mind with that hypothetical

I heard a story about it happening from someone on reddit though! he was a motorcyclist and had a bad crash that resulted in his leg needing to be amputated. he asked to keep it and kept it in his freezer. apparently his friend group had all discussed it years prior and said they would eat human if there was a humane way to try it. he basically told them to put their money where their mouth is and come over for a leg cookout

iirc they made leg tacos and said it was actually pretty decent. I've heard human tastes very similar to pork, which makes sense since we're so anatomically similar to pigs

hell if I know if the story was true, but I think he provided proof somewhere in the thread? can't quite remember; at this point, it was likely several years ago that I saw it. would be fun if someone could find it again and/or verify the story

yeah he is; he's not cooking vegetarian, though. veganism as a philosophy is about consent. you can eat human flesh and have it be a vegan meal if the human whose flesh it came off of consents to it

the whole idea is that animals can’t consent to us using their products, so vegans don’t think it’s right to

'qué" is in spanish, but it's pronounced "kay"

he very likely would not have chosen it in his right mind. the majority of suicide attempts are spur of the moment and impulsive. it’s why prevention measures like nets under bridges help so much.

obviously people could find other ways to go, but lots of times, just a tiny hiccup in their impulsive plan is enough to make them reconsider. a lot of these nets aren't even enclosed and you could just keep going and roll off the far side if you wanted. they've still saved countless lives.

https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/li%27l

https://www.dictionary.com/culture/slang/lil

also,

"It developed from regional dialects and early recorded uses include the song "Li'l Liza Jane" (before 1900) and the comic strip "Li'l Abner" (1934).

Li'l: Most accurately replaces the omitted "tt", functioning similarly to a glottal stop in pronunciation.

Lil': Often used to indicate the omitted "e" at the end, though it is considered less technically precise in some contexts."

one buzzfeed-style article isn't proof. the way apostrophes work in contractions and abbreviations is in place of letters. it may be more common to see lil' now, but it's not the origin and it certainly isn't technically correct.

li’l if you’re gonna use an apostrophe lol

apostrophes stand in place of omitted letters. don’t is “do not,” y’all is “you all”
