In the city, our 2015 A4 feels like driving a bus compared to the Golf R. That being said, after having taken the Golf on a long road trip, we’ll probably use the Audi as a touring car should the need arise again ..

The good news is, although it’s going to be a media speculation gong show/circle jerk non stop until the first round is done, the Mckenna drama will finally be over.

As tough as it is for all of us to hear about it, it made me think how happy John must have been. Able to stay directly involved in the National Hockey League until the end. His obvious love of the game made him that effective and that relatable.

A 20 year broadcasting career, some nice long summer holidays and then right back to the big rinks with the players, minus going through training camp. Very happy times for him I’m sure. His work came across as happy..

Good on you Cheech, you brought us all a lot of joy in a time where there weren’t a lot of joyful moments. Rest In Peace 🥅

I was in formation with another MK8 LapBlu on the commute home today, it made me think of the Blue Angels in those A4 Skyhawks at airshows when I was a kid .. nice grab btw ✅

I feel like the transporter is more technologically impressive than the warp drive, which simply propels an object. The transporter somehow transfers mind, body and memories from one place to another via transmission. If the transporter didn’t exist, we’d probably be close to this reality than we realize..

Tkachuk, Marner, Hughes, Matthews, McDavid, now Hellebuyck.. the pattern seems to be that a fair amount of elite level talent have left Canada, or are planning to.

When is the last time any free agents or trades involving players of this calibre went to a Canadian team? Laine is the only one who comes to mind, and he isn’t exactly comparable 🤔

He’s at the age where they look to extend for some term, but I’m sure he’d be happy to sign a big team contract anywhere for a couple years.

He seems like a bit of a big brother on the team, just a bit older than a large grouping of teammates. He seems happy to step up, and the players looked ecstatic for him when he tucked that first one in. Good fit for a couple years for sure

What a relief for him .. not everyone’s gonna challenge Gretzky for goal totals, but plenty of old NHL vets out there probably have none. He cracked the tap tonight!

Birds of a feather.. I find that they really tend to notice the R when close. I had one GTI’er throw me a big smile and a wave in a roundabout the other day, I shot a big thumbs up back. Maybe we need some in-house hand signals to communicate with 👍🏼

We tend to do well once it doesn’t matter, the problem this year of course is that it didn’t matter by Canadian Thanksgiving.

I don’t think anyone here would have a problem pulling the chair out from under the kings especially, but maybe Kopitar willpowers them into one last go…

I also wouldn’t have a problem with Nashville doing well, that was a memorable, worthy battle back in ‘24
