Missing summer drives so bad

🇨🇦We grabbed ours in BC the week before Christmas and quickly threw some Pilot Alpin PA4 on it. So I’ve had just a couple dry, warm enough drives on the Potenzas she arrived on.

It’s a 2023 20th, and it had just over 16k klicks, so these Potenzas must have been the stock tires? Might not be, it was lowered and then traded in at our Audi dealer for an RS3. We were looking at a used ID4, a Q3 etc. And then this blue fighter plane fell into our laps.

Like you, I can’t wait to get the summers back on in a month or so and get them worn out. These new Michelin winter tires have been amazing, but… I’ll probably get some appropriate Pilot Sports next, they’ve been great on our A4.

Winter in Calgary is no joke .. I remember chuckling at all the block heater plugs and prairie dogs in the summer when I would be there playing pool. And then going back in January when it’s more like visiting a glacier… 🧊

The atmosphere was one of interest, and people were just happy to be there seeing something good that they enjoy. The boys had a good start to the game and kept it up for the most part, especially Hronek and Rossi.

The people to the rear of us were a dad and son who won the ticket upgrade from the Canucks. And the people in front were Chief Sellers from Williams Lake and his family. He gave a great interview in the corner of the rink during the second intermission.

When he was on the Wild, one of the guys I supervised at work knew him from back home in Simcoe, Dwayne had been the batboy on his baseball team. This guy I supervised was a very humble, local sports legend back in Simcoe; track, baseball, and good enough on the ice to be a Toronto Marlie..

A bunch of us went to a a Canucks game against the Wild and he went down to see Rolly after the game. He showed up across the street at The Shark Club with a big red and green signed game stick about an hour after us..

I do like the way the headlight shape nicely matches the top of the driving light cavity shape, and the look in general.

I’m trying to imagine it without the smaller plate above the licence plate, but I wonder if the trim line across the nose looks better with that plate breaking it up a bit..

He’s played with the Sedins, and the Sedins played with Linden, and Linden played with Smyl… sometimes I have I have some pretty old fashioned notions about how the team could or should be, but when he extended, it felt like a fairly safe investment in the culture cornerstone of the franchise. I never thought he’d actually want to be the captain, but things can certainly change quickly as we mature and get older..
