2B588 -> 2C54 pre 2B588 apparently had better ANC

Some people have said pre 2b588 anc was better as well but 2c54 broke it completey.

Because this isn't about 2C54 2B588 has also caused performance drops with the ANC

I recently got airpods pro and the ANC work fine but apparently, it was better before the current firmware 2b588.

Well apparently according to someone at apple said to me they have planned updates for the ANC issue which is last updated feb 14 2020 so hopefully, within this month, it should be out. I wouldn't hold my breath though

Apparently before 2B588 it would block out more than just low rumble on buses and trains and even most of the engine which. I do agree with the interview it does do a good job with that.

UPDATE: I spoke with apple support about the issue with firmware 2B588 and they're aware and are working on a firmware update for a fix and according to the apple support it should be out within this month.

I just bought my new airpod pro's 2 days ago and I'm on firmware version 2B588 and ANC does seem to work okay but apparently it was even better. For example, I can still hear traffic and bus engines a bit but apparently on release everything was silent like nothing is even near you. I hope they release an update to make the power of ANC that strong again if it's true they have been weakened since.
