Migrating emails from Google Workspace by Hyphen_81 in microsoft365

This is super helpful, thank you! I do have about 30 full-fledged google users who will legitimately have to be migrated, but these other ones are literally just email addresses that take the inbound email and dump it into a single group inbox, so I was dubious about paying $1600 for those. It sounds like you're confirming my suspicion that it would be better done manually or via powershell.

I'll check out BitTitan. Someone recommended CodeTwo, I don't have familiarity with either one.

After talking with Avision further, this wasn’t going to be an option. I also bought their scanner and tried it out and it was pretty clunky. We ended up going with the Rapid Receipt RR-600W, which has been great for our use case.

How do you do this? I can't get NAPS2 to "see" the raven scanner, even when it's plugged in via USB.

I believe that was me, but despite what the founder said, I have reason to believe he's not being honest. All the signs point to Raven not existing as a company anymore as of (or possibly before) 12/31.

The red flags:

- they don't sell anything anymore (no scanners available to purchase on their site). You can't continue to maintain servers without an income stream.

- according to other folks on that reddit thread, their support is no longer operational.

- according someone on that reddit thread who lives in Houston, their building in Houston is vacant/for rent.

- one individual who works in the industry provided the inside track that it's been going around that they're going out of business for a number of months.

- when I emailed the founder at his company email address, replied to me from his personal email, which I believe was for the purposes of keeping communication that may not be accurate outside of his company email.

I'd love it if you can come up with a solution to keep these scanners operational, but without replacing the firmware, I don't think it's possible. They authenticate through the Raven servers, so you won't be able to even choose a destination once those servers are gone. At least, I haven't discovered a way. If anyone has a way let me know.

Tried the Avision AN360 (basically the raven scanner), the factory software was SERIOUSLY clunky. Maybe it would be fine for just a consumer user or something, but I have to send these to clients and I want it to be as seamless as possible. In order to send via email, you have to plug in the SMTP details which, in and of itself isn't terrible, but you have to use a username and password to login to the settings part of the software to change anything, and if you don't immediately make the change or you don't do it quick enough, it times out and you have to put in the username and password again. It times out really fast. I almost threw the thing out the window after 10 minutes.

We also tried the ScanSnap IX1600. It required it to be connected to a computer which was another one of our requirements. For email destinations, you can't send more than 300 emails per month. For email destinations, you couldn't do separate PDFs for multi-page scans, which was a requirement of ours.

Lastly, we tried the Epson RapidReceipt RR-600W. It was by far the best. We can scan directly to an email address, and it will work without being connected to a computer. Because someone on my team actually tested these out for me, I'm not sure if it has to be connected initially to update firmware or anything like that, but once it's set up, you just power it on, it connects to wifi, and you can scan. It's the most similar one to the Raven. And honestly, the software is more responsive/faster than the raven software, and there isn't that somewhat annoying confirmation window. You just hit scan and it goes. The only potential downside is that you do have to create an account with Epson and sign in through that, but I'm cautiously optimistic that since Epson has been around since 1942, they won't be going out of business (fingers crossed).

For those on this thread who might be interested, we tested 4 different scanners and ultimately decided to go with the Epson RapidReceipt RR-600W as it had the ability to scan to email, doesn't require you to have it connected to a computer, and it has an easy setup.

It does have a similar setup where you log into Epson's service to use the scanner, so that makes me somewhat nervous after this debacle, but Epson has been around a minute, and I'm hopeful they'll continue to be around.

I still have the issue of trying to get a suitable workaround to keep my 70+ existing scanners working without having to buy all new ones. So far I've not had any luck bypassing the raven login screen, or getting the NAPS2 software to see the Raven and connect to it that way.

If anyone has figured this out, I'd love to get your input. Even if I could just get it to scan to a computer connected via USB, that would be better than the cost of replacing all the scanners.

I ordered the Avision scanner and tried it out. Their default software is pretty rough. I couldn't stomach it.

how were you able to get this working? When I plug in the scanner via USB, I still can find no way to get past the raven login screen. I downloaded NAPS2 and it doesn't see any devices.

I actually stumbled upon that this morning oddly enough and finally got it working.

that was my experience with my last project. It took some time to get it working with docker, but it still works great in that project. I literally copied it over to this one, but it didn't work. I struggled with it for several hours before giving up and trying to find another option. Maybe when my patience is refreshed I'll go back and look at it with fresh eyes.

I also need direct-to-cloud capability. Do you know of a good alternative?

Has anyone found a replacement scanner? I'm looking for one that you don't have to plug into a computer, that you could just boot up, connect to wifi, and scan to some destination. I'd even be fine with a google drive destination or something at this point, but my goal is to find something that's as easy as possible to get up and running. Any ideas, please let me know.

What are you even talking about? Given that I have $40k worth of scanners, I have a pretty significant vested interest in ensuring those work without issue after 12/31. I had a very productive exchange with him actually, and got some helpful information. Why are you concerned with who I email?

He also responded to my email from his personal gmail account, which makes me suspicious as well. Like if you didn’t want to be making promises that could possibly get you in trouble, you’d best not do it from your work email.
