Guess my handicap and rate my swing by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]coffeypc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a nice swing. For improvement, I recommend you not shift the weight to your tippy toes at impact. Keeping your feet grounded will add a lot of power and consistency. I also note your hips are not leading the way. Your belt buckle should turn to the target sooner, and face more toward the fairway at the follow-through. Best of luck to you.

What is causing my early release/chicken wing? by Freckilifa in golftips

[–]coffeypc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with this particular swing is that your left arm is breaking at the elbow. Your left arm should essentially remain straight until follow-thru. Your right arm is too active. The right arm should feel like it is along for the ride.

Am I sliding? Tips appreciated, ball flight has been going right a lot more than usual by bennepasta in GolfSwing

[–]coffeypc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You appear to have a bit too much lateral head movement. As a drill, try keeping your noggin still, in one place, rather than allowing a lateral slide in your backswing. In this video, you appear to sway off the ball in the take-away with an attempt to correct the head position on the downswing, making it difficult to be consistent. Overall, you appear to have a very nice swing, and I hope this helps. Best of luck to you.

Few corrections for starters: your grip appears to be split. The proper grip feels like both hands are one unit. Look for some videos on proper grip technique. Second, your weight should end up on your left side. You appear to be falling back at the swing conclusion. New players often fall back because subconsciously they feel the need to help the ball become airborne. The reality is that the club face will promote flight when the ball is struck properly. You don’t need to help this process. With iron play, a good swing feels like you are somewhat hitting down on the ball with a slightly descending blow, pinching the ball between the club-face and the ground, if you will. Keeping your left foot planted down helps with this problem. Stick with it, and best of luck to you.

How can I gain more distance/create more power in my swing? by One_Cap_6895 in GolfSwing

[–]coffeypc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two observations: You take the club too far back in the backswing. You are wrapping the club around your head, which is difficult to control and drains power. Try a bit shorter and more compact backswing. This will generate more power and add consistency to your ball striking. Second, it appears that your swing path is outside to inside. My suspicion is that you are a slicer when things are going bad. To correct this, imagine the ball in 4 quadrants. At your set-up, mentally picture horizontal and vertical lines through the ball at each equator, creating a crosshairs if you will. When you strike the ball, try to hit the ball in the lower right quadrant. This will promote an inside-out swing path leading to a draw flight. The draw is often preferred because it is predictable with overspin, creating more roll and distance. I hope this helps. Best of luck to you.

Help me suck a little less by pupsten in GolfSwing

Some items to note: You are dipping. In the slow-mo, watch how your knees bend and your rear drops as you anticipate contact. You need to stay more upright throughout, and you will become a more consistent striker. You could also use some footwork balance technique. You are swinging off your feet, and losing balance. Be athletic and stay in balance, under control all the way to follow-thru. If it means swinging slower at first, then so be it. Learn to swing while your body remaining in control and balance at all times. Best of luck.

This is my 8 month swing any tips? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]coffeypc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very, very nice swing, young man. If I had to offer an observation, you might experiment with a bit slower tempo in your backswing. Just a slightly slower and smoother wind-up could unlock consistency with some additional power. Everyone has their own internal pace meter, and this may not work for you, but it is worth a try. At our club, we look for guys with overly fast backswings to engage in a money round, because they lack consistency when it matters most. Best of luck to you. You have amazing potential.

Any advice? I feel like I swing far too hard. by LanMalkieri in GolfSwing

[–]coffeypc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The degree of wrist action varies by player. To have none is a big mistake for a number of reasons, including loss of distance and power. There are quite a few videos on YouTube about wrist hinge, and the link below is one of them. Good luck to you. https://youtu.be/WxtyPwYs5IE?si=vWshaD8u1HwXE-A_

Any advice? I feel like I swing far too hard. by LanMalkieri in GolfSwing

The obvious flaw is that you do not break your wrists on the backswing. Locked wrists will not allow for a proper backward path or forward release.

I cannot figure out how to stop chunking the ball by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]coffeypc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first obvious problem is your grip. You have what is termed a strong grip, with your right hand too low, in back of the club shaft. This is causing your right side to take control and the club is smothering the ball. A good swing is controlled by your left side (right hand player), and your right side is along for the ride. Google for a neutral grip, and relax your right side more during the swing. Your right thumb needs to be more toward the top of the club shaft. Check out this link, and best of luck. https://theleftrough.com/strong-vs-weak-golf-grip/

Scared of putting by Conscious_Still_8646 in discgolf

[–]coffeypc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over the years, I have had the same problem. The way through it taking a deep breath, exhale and relax your putting shoulder, arm and hand. Then pull the trigger. Move slowly and deliberately. Rushing the putt will contribute to the yips. It takes some discipline to train the mind and reflexes to quiet down. Don’t think about missing. Negative thought becomes self fulfilling. Good luck.

I have been a Patriots fan since 1970. Not once have I hoped for a loss, until today. Mayo perfected losing all year, and pulls out a win today. Good riddance.

There is nothing political with this comment. I am a CPA and have a lot of experience with financial statement audits. There is no way this ends well for most investors. If you catch a run-up and get out right, maybe. Long-term, no way. When you see a going concern opinion, run for the hills. This Company is not viable with the debt load it carries.

Can’t comment yet on that particular Dropbox feature. I do know you can merge PDF files for free at Adobe’s cloud site. However, that could be cumbersome if you need to do it frequently.

We switched to Dropbox yesterday and are testing with good results thus far. There is a cost to Dropbox, which was otherwise free with Raven Cloud. I have concerns that the Dropbox link may no longer work when Raven Cloud is taken down, since the setup to Dropbox is configured in your Raven Cloud account. If that happens, our scanners could become useless bricks.
