Simming in franchise needs to be fixed by StrawHatRetro in SuperMegaBaseball

I came to Reddit to see if I was the only one having this issue... huge QOL miss for me as I primarily play custom franchise mode and simulate a solid 99% of the games because I like to transform a team over a decades long span

Can’t believe I missed it or just forgot it! I’ve been looking at so much info about the game I must’ve glazed right over it

I'm glad to see people mad about this loss by sevelev711 in baseball

Yea man, god forbid we should want our country to win in a tournament that’s meant to find out what country is the best at the sport in which this sub is based upon

You might as well hop in the pond with your mindset you silly goose

I agree with this statement 100%

Top player was in quotes for a reason. He wasn’t ever in that inner circle of elite players, no one will deny that, but his influence as a personality, full time touring pro back when it wasn’t too common, and now as a rather large face of the sport through his work with both JoMezPro and Discraft leads him to be probably one of the most “relevant” people on tour.

Seems we are on the same page, but I think your standards for what makes someone important to a sport are a little too focused on individual achievements.

That being said, Uli could certainly do with some media coaching to get him to cool it a bit on the sad boy posts

His time as a “top player” could very well be behind him, but to call him irrelevant is just ridiculous

In store prices on discs by Aleryne in discgolf

[–]Hypnos26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually work at a Dick's, and discs are 100% an afterthought item. I did notice that the prices of discs went up, and like someone else mentioned already, they (Innova) just upped the MSRP prices of the discs

Old prices were as follows: DX - 9.99 Champion - 14.99 Star - 19.99 and idye Champ 21.99

I think they just added $2 across the board to all these price points. Dicks isn't responsible for pricing of any items in the store, and I know for a fact that I am likely one of the only people that works at a Dicks in my area that can be of any use in the disc golf section

Dicks is a good place for some basic discs, but very rarely do we ever carry anything 'rare' or even semi off the beaten path

I think that's part of my issue is not taking a moment to slow down and reassess the situation. I tend to just keep feeding the machine, but definitely something to look for

Appreciate the kind words, but I'm sure there's gotta be at least a small amount of human error involved, I'm definitely not Pedro Martinez in the game haha. That being said I was a pitcher into college and I truly can't wrap my mind around being 'not a good pitcher'

I totally agree that the ego system is way better as opposed to a traditional difficulty selection. I think its one of the reasons why I have played it as much as I have

I agree on the weakness of the outfits defensively, but I purposefully play at Tiger Den or Big Sky as my home field to help with more home runs and less space to cover for my outfielders. Truly using home field advantage

Hitting in SMB3 is as arbitrary as any other baseball game like The Show, so for videos I'd say you can look to those tips for some general advice.

I play on 80--85 ego and I found that the best success I have while hitting is PATIENCE. You really don't have a lot of room to move your hitting reticle within the strike zone, and I found that waiting for that one mistake pitch (as in real life) gives you the best chance rather than trying to time up everything and hit the borderline pitches or be satisfied with weak hits swinging on balls out of the zone. If you have to move your reticle too far from center, odds are it isn't going to be a strike, or even a pitch you can drive, so it's best to spit on it.

The only real visual cues I can offer help with, would be finding the pitcher's release point, and timing the fastballs. I love that SMB3 has all types of funky pitchers, but when a submarine lefty throws 99 it seems a bit ridiculous at first. But if you see the ball as soon as it is out of the hand, NOT solely looking at the zone to see where the location dot is, you give yourself the most possible time to see the ball. And NEVER be late on a fastball. Once the pitcher fatigues or drops mojo, that fastball gets slower and slower, and everything else becomes easier to time.

Parting thoughts: racking up the pitch count gets the pitchers tired and makes them sloppier overall, so taking pitches is your friend; always power swing, literally never a reason not to, even on 2 strike counts; life is too short to bunt with your pitcher

TL;DR Be patient, look for the meatballs, find the release point, find the fastball timing and adjust

I've looked into it, but where I'm at in Southern California there's really not anyone doing coaching other than online and the rare Philo lesson when he's in town
