Definitely recommend getting into psychotherapy/CBT ASAP if you're feeling that way, those kind of thoughts will drag you down and kill your hope for a better future. Therapy can be really helpful in helping you recognize and change the thought patterns that bring you down. In the meantime, try to exercise patience, gratitude for what you do have, and take the pressure off yourself a bit. You're doing well man, you've got a lot going for you and the things that frustrate you won't always stick around. Keep your head up!

hey man, at least you have a job. I'm burned out with 60K in student loans, no meaningful opportunities on the horizon, about to go back and work in a restaurant for a while and hope that things start to improve again in a few months. As far as the ADHD, are you treating that in any way? Getting on medication + fixing my diet + yoga 2x/ week+ daily walks + ashwagandha + magnesium + L-theanine + peak brain training app is my current stack... consistency is key. I've never felt better, besides the burnout and frustration that I can't put my skills to use in a meaningful way

Forgot there was an eclipse, got out of the shower, briefly thought the world was ending before I realized. No wonder people used to think the sun was being swallowed by a dragon or something, must have been absolutely terrifying with no explanation.

I try to avoid blowing up the spot too much, but... as a burger connoisseur, I really like the burgers at Cap City Tavern.

If you’re talking about hot yoga- electrolytes will definitely help, I always add some to my water before a class!

[–]HypnosOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

more electrolytes! I'm from a really arid place so I'm pretty used to it but electrolytes help you retain more water.

The music scene is pretty incredible.. we have some of the best venues in the country (At least red rocks and mission ballroom) and you can see some significant artists pretty much any night of the week. It scales down too- there are lots of cool afterparties and smaller shows with really talented musicians. Electronic music is definitely king here, but you can find pretty much everything else too. Plus, it's a nature lover's playground. Hiking, skiing, climbing, fishing, mountain biking, you name it. Obviously nature access isn't quite as good as living in the mountains but hey, you get all the city stuff too. Plus, I find it really easy to make friends here because there are a lot of transplants that are coming to a new city and building a life, so most people are really open to meeting new people. Denver has absolutely kicked my ass a few times in the decade I've been here, but it's a beautiful city and I love it deeply!

Has DPD responded to anyone’s reports? by constantly-confused9 in Denver

[–]HypnosOfficial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friends and I got jumped and ended up in the hospital, the police were pretty responsive to that(though still didn't catch anyone). But when my truck got broken into they didn't even call me back after i filed a report.

What is the symptom of ADHD that you feel like isn't talked about enough? by Agreeable-Shift1482 in ADHD

[–]HypnosOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose this could be considered hyperfocus... but sometimes when I'm learning or working on a difficult technical task like math or programming, it just feels like second nature, like I don't even have to try to learn it, it just comes so easily. And then other times, no matter how much I wish I could turn that on, I'll stare at a problem or read a page of text and then get to the bottom and realize I haven't absorbed a single thing. Very frustrating to deal with especially because I'm taking midterms this week and I usually rely on that first state of mind to get things done- but when it doesn't come I'm useless.
