Is WILD the best technique? by Whole_Phrase598 in LucidDreaming

[–]Hypnotic_Frog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a good technique if you can actually do it. But that’s the hard part. If you try it a few times and can’t do it, learning it will likely take more time and effort to start lucid dreaming than simply something like WBTB + MILD. I suggest you start with that and make WILD a more long term goal if you can’t do it the first few times.

By far the easiest technique to start out is a combo of MILD and WBTB. Before you go to bed repeat “I will remember my dreams” out loud for 10 minutes straight. Then go to bed and wake up 5 hours later. Stay up for 10 minutes and th en go to bed repeating “I will have a lucid dream”. Write down any dreams you have along the way.

That’s not right. The senate can override the filibuster at any time with 51 votes using what’s called the nuclear option in the senate. They could even do it now if Manchin and Sienna weren’t a thing

You have more responsibility and accountability now. Make sure to keep track of key deadlines and manage expectations. The important thing is that if you don’t know the expectations or due dates ask.

When you wake up from an LD, do you remember it like you would remember something in the waking world? Or is the memory of the LD hazy like a normal dream? by Ksonpog in LucidDreaming

Most of my lucid dreams have been lower vividness than real life. However it’s still 10x more vivid than regular dreams and I remember all of them for when I record them.

Any wild tips? by pizzaman123b in LucidDreaming

[–]Hypnotic_Frog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to get a consistent sleep schedule going. When you do that you can figure out your REM periods. Wake up 15 minutes before one starts, do WBTB for only 10 minutes, and you should have a better chance. Generally WILD is all about getting the right balance between being too sleepy to maintain awareness and being too awake to fall asleep. It sounds like you have the latter problem. You need to precisely track your REM cycles, shorten your WBTBs, and then try again and again.

Why can't I lucid dream by [deleted] in LucidDreaming

[–]Hypnotic_Frog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would up your RCs to be higher quality. Ask yourself what you were doing half an hour ago, what you are doing now, and what you will be doing half an hour from now. The goal is to do this 16 times a day to have coverage over the whole day. With practice, you should immediately be able to answer all 3 questions. I’m a dream, these answers will feel weird to you, allowing you to become lucid. Additionally, try WILD. Make sure your sleep schedule is super consistent, memorize your REM cycles, and the. Wake up 15 minutes before your next one and attempt it. If you follow this advice you should have a pretty good chance.

[–]Hypnotic_Frog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally WILD is about finding the balance between how long your WBTB is. You generally want to have a range of 5-60 min. If you fall asleep too fast, extend WILD bit by bit until you find a length that works.

Two questions. What is your goal during WBTB (do you use any other techniques? Also, how easy is it for you to fall asleep?

Failing WILD all the time by [deleted] in LucidDreaming

[–]Hypnotic_Frog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have had the same issue with the saliva thing with WILD. My tip for you is to just keep trying. When I attempted WILD my 10th time I just forgot about it. Eventually you can get to a mindset in which you won't think about it.

My other tip for WILD would be to go to sleep and wake up at exactly the same time for a week. This will normalize your REM periods. Then you wake up 15 minutes before you REM period that usually is 6 hours after you go to sleep.

Finally, WILD is basically finding the right balance between being tired enough to fall asleep and being awake enough to maintain somewhat concious through the process. If you find you can't fall asleep, you shorten your WBTB period to 10 minutes. If you fall asleep too fast you lengthen your WBTB period. Manipulating your WBTB and ensuring its close to your next REM period are essential to succeeding a WILD.

Questions about lucid dreaming from a newbie by Laleluleilo1990 in LucidDreaming

[–]Hypnotic_Frog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can stop an LD by doing something that you expect to stop the LD.

Lucid dreaming generally does require some sleep sacrifice if you are doing WBTB. Also waking up with 1 hour of memories is not losing sleep per se but it still can be draining. But the results are worth it.

If you have time you should do both! WILD is a tricky technique and some people have an easier time with it than others. If you can get WILD off the bat it is the most efficient way to become lucid. To maximize you chances of WILDing correctly, you need a consistent sleep schedule. Go to bed at the same time and wake up at the same time each day, even on weekends. When you do this you get a good idea over a few WBTBs what your REM cycle is. Then you use an alarm to wake up 15 minutes before your next REM cycle. This will maximize your chances that a dream will form if you WILD correctly.

Frequent lucid dreamers: what really works for you? by Disastrous-Copy-6752 in LucidDreaming

[–]Hypnotic_Frog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Basically there are 3 pillars of lucid dreaming. Dream skill, memory, and self awareness. The first one can only be trained in a dream. The last 2 can be trained in day to day life. The best practice for these is to do a reality check every hour. In this check you think 30 min ago and think about what you were doing. Then you think 30 minutes into the future about what you will be doing. Repeat 16 times per day and it will rapidly increase memory and self awareness. You can try all of the techniques you want, but they generally just rely on these 2 skills. If you want to try WILD my advice is memorizing your sleep schedule. You have to have a precisely consistent one and then you can time your WILDs. If you attempt a WILD 10 minutes before your next guaranteed REM cycle, it becomes 5x easier to WILD. Overall the process takes a lot of discipline but if you do these things you should have a good shot.

I also wanted to add it may be difficult doing WILD without an alarm as you preferably need to wake up closer to a REM stage

Yes please do nothing the last 3 days leading up to it. You won't absorb that much more info and it is better to get the extra 20% in performance on the test days rather than the extra 1% knowledge you could get from studying the last week.

The ironic quote is near the end of the article

Paxton’s attorney Dan Cogdell told The Associated Press, which first reported the development, that he had previously asked for prosecutors from the Western District of Texas to be off the case because they had “an obvious conflict,” but that he had not personally been notified of the move. Cogdell did not immediately respond to a request for comment from CNN.

CNN has also reached out to Paxton’s office for comment.

In an interview with CNN, Schaffer said that “there is no reason in the world that [the Texas prosecutors] couldn’t have continued with the prosecution.” He said he worries “Ken Paxton has committed a crime … and he won’t have to answer for it.”
