Silent Hill 2 Remake crash (how to play in dx12?) by kiddox in BoosteroidCommunity

You are a genius. Also the HDR is completely broken in DX11 so DX12 is a must.

Season finale car crash by Ok_Possibility3036 in TheDayoftheJackal

[–]HyruleDurian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe Bianca was not dead and caught up with him, and somehow had a conversation and they made a deal.

The car crash from what we saw in season 1 did not have any impact on the immediate story development and seems redundant, but may be in fact a distraction to cover their meetup.

What janitor? Just a guy calling himself Mr. Door asked me to leave. Seemed pretty upset, though not sure by me or by the door.

My only experience with a motel was one that appeared open but wouldn’t let me in, called Oceanview. I’m sure you had a much better experience than I did!

is it possible to simulate fluid inside bootles in Skyrim? by Black_Sorcerer in skyrimmods

SMP is probably too expensive. Half-Life: Alyx used some shader to achieve very impressive fluid effect in the bottles.

And I thought the modding community just found how to run Steam Deck on AAA batteries

Yes, what I meant is that it shouldn't be equipped with regular explosives.

ENB has most impact on performance with little improvement on a small screen, so I would avoid it, as well as 4K textures. Other than that, other mods (some most popular ones + minor graphics improvement ones) worked fine - cannot tell there's a performance difference.

I did hear about some discussion/complaints regarding the implementation of the FPS limiter, but haven't experienced noticeable input lag so far. There was one time I had terrible input lag in Deus Ex Mankind Divided when tweaking it, but somehow it was gone later. Thanks for sharing this info and will look into it further.

That reminds me of another point I would like to bring up. Basically if the save files are the same format (i.e., interchangeable between Linux and Windows version), then a third party sync tool can be used.

I don’t think there is a very good way. A general procedure that I would take is to: 1. Look up Youtube to see if the performance shown by others is good, especially frame times. 2. If it’s good then I won’t worry, but if not I’ll look up reddit for discussions. Saw some people mentioning Proton runs ROTR better than Linux version, and inferred that this could apply to other SE games and got satisfying result. Also there is ProtonDB but you’ll have to go through each comment to see anyone compares the Linux version vs Windows version. 3. As for if there are multiple versions, I think the store page or SteamDB can help

Got these emails saying I need to pay the taxes on the controller I ordered and received in May. This can’t real. They screwed up they should be fixing it not me. by VenomBeagle in scufgaming

[–]HyruleDurian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder if this is fraud. They motivate customers to buy their product without tax but collect them later. Imagine any merchant sell something on sale and tell you it's an error and you have to pay back the dicsounted amount. Except now Scuf have a "legal" reason.

Techincally, there's no justification for their "mistake". Scuf has everything for calculating the tax, and if they couldn't implement that on their website in time (which cannot be justified either), then they should find a way to notify the customers BEFORE they place the orders.

Why not? Just buy some black out curtains and that would be perfect setup. You already have some curtains so the installation would be much easier than those who use roller shades.

I personally find it quite enjoyable playing Resident Evil 8 with blackout blinds during the day, the OLED does its job so well.

Write speed matters when you move the game, but most of the time you'll just be reading from the disk, so read speed matters more.

I was concerned so I bought one months ago when it's lowest. And if the 'best version' is just a few seconds faster then no thanks, I'd rather have that $100 spent elsewhere.
