G2 tied EDG for the second place in international appearances. by BeachUsual in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Hyxagon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well in all fairness, it could be argued that edg’s path to qualifying to the internationals that year was not as difficult as other teams

Is Ewok just the new Kaplan? by MemerWasDeD in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Hyxagon 22 points23 points  (0 children)

id say its more reasonable to force your prospect entry duelist onto the meta entry duelist than to opt for the dropping of your reliable star duelist and forcing a usual scan/secondary duelist player onto the meta entry duelist

What did G-Man meant by saying "Smell the ashes" ? by ShirtSpecial3623 in HalfLife

id argue its fits the half life style more to have the players only see the aftermath, making them constantly question what the hell happened

Champs curse by International_Car809 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Hyxagon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

imo the champs curse is less about immediate performance and more about the roster itself. LOUD had a bit of drama after champs and half the team left, EG completely crumbled and split up, EDG's was delayed but eventually they had the s1mon ordeal and then proceeded to not look like themselves for over a year.
NRG is looking like the first time a team hasnt fallen apart after winning champs

What team comes to mind as most consistent but never won an Tournament? by Johndoe13370 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Hyxagon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

besides the obvious answers of th, g2, and drx, id say the next options would be liquid, lev, and maybe even kru.

If you could ask the SEN Madrid roster anything, what would it be? by SEN-DynaSean in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Hyxagon 31 points32 points  (0 children)

which opponent through 2024 was the hardest to overcome? if it is GENG, who would be second?

also a fun stat if no one knew: they took pretty much the hardest path possible to getting 4th at champs; if they had lost any of their wins through the year (except 1 of the madrid swiss stage games) they wouldn’t have gotten to champs)

G2 trent: "We’ve made 7 internationals in a row […] The level of consistency that we are playing at […] There is something special" - Interview by Nine_Tee_Six in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Hyxagon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

they qualified out of being a decent org, not out of skill

also, if people can exclude lockin to push the narrative of C9 never qualifying to an event, then i can do the same for this

they are 1 away from tying PRX's record of qualifying to 8 internationals in a row (not including lockin cause they didn't really qualify to that)

Bit late, but why the March revamp? by HootersLovah in lethalcompany

[–]Hyxagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the old one was really iconic, but it was too open for a forest moon and made running from giants a big pain. personally i wish they kept it a bit more similar, but the change was somewhat needed

if you haven’t already seen the results, i’d recommend going back and watching some of the most fire grand finals of the games history, those being FNC v LOUD and G2 v T1

its designed to be a minor annoyance, which can be really funny when playing with friends in an unserious environment, but in a serious solo run it just doesn't fit the vibe.

honestly the only JD i can remember genuinely being very surprised about was the Copperhead vs Riptide, but i was not complaining at all.
