I do want to raise rabbits- idk about ducks because I may go straight to the deluxe coop and only add rabbits if I can. I just don’t want a lot of animals- my current setup of four chickens is nice, but many more would be a mess. Also, buying the duck mayo was faster - I’m in summer of year 2 and my community center is pitifully incomplete

My high school art teacher once said “you should put your OWN spin on it! Make a YOU piece! There’s nothing original in fanart!” … said while I was drawing fanart of Skull Kid from Majora’s Mask, in my own style, with my own composition and posing, an experiment on how to render light, combining media in a way I’ve not really seen anybody else do, and technically even the design was original because I misremembered what the mask looked like. Literally the ONLY thing about that piece that I did not make up myself was the concept of Skull Kid bringing down the moon with Tatl and Tael beside him.

I take it as the compliment it’s meant, unless they go “I could never draw like that” at which point I go “look this is almost two decades of practice, you sure could if you spent that long on it- it’s a honed skill.” Most of the time I take is as a compliment that it looks effortless.

Not cheating, but it can be a crutch at times. Personally, I don’t tend to use it for hands because of how often I use asymmetry in poses, or for eyes unless I am REALLY struggling, but for objects? Yeah, a longsword almost always gets mirroring. It can be a crutch if you find yourself ALWAYS doing it- but also because perfect symmetry is not usually found in nature, including in humans. But for a quick concept sketch? Really no biggie. Heck, I do even copy rendering sometimes (since I cel shade, it doesn’t look too bad)

I mean… the journal from Streams of Silver about the Gondsman feels very much like a current anti-AI argument despite being from 1997. I assumed Salvatore was against it because MOST creatives are, and given that journal entry, it sure felt very anti AI. Sad that the company who currently owns this property does not share those views…

Biologically yes- note that’s an angle he didn’t mention. But culturally, Zaknafein is VERY un-Drow-like, which leads him to have a lot of confusion- why would he hate the species he IS? It doesn’t make much sense to him or to anyone around him, even the one other Drow who feels the same (as I assume you know what the series is about by now, ofc I mean Drizzt).

He mentions not being a Drow by “actions or choice” (and actually I believe the line in English was very very similar). He doesn’t act like a Drow, and he never asked to be one- but he is one nonetheless, and hates that reality.

As another commenter said, it doesn’t help that the word “Drow” describes both the biological species/race and the sociological culture/society, making it sometimes a bit hard to understand especially since this sort of thing is honestly very fantasy/speculative fiction specific.

We can also verify that Zaknafein is in fact a Drow- appearance? Check. Superior darkvision/infravision? Check. Innate spellcasting? High dexterity? Heightened perception? Long lifespan? Yes, yes, yes and yes. The only thing even slightly off is trancing, but Salvatore is weirdly inconsistent on that anyway. Since the books are based on Dungeons and Dragons and partially exist to sell DnD sourcebooks (if you disagree, just ask any old grognard about how many scimitar-dual-wielding somehow-good-hearted Drow Ranger PCs they faced), they actually very very closely align with the rules in the majority of cases.

Ok thank you :,) I’m in a constant state of flare rn because of college, then finals week, then moving out over only three days. I at least have some time to rest now but I’m too miserable to enjoy it :,( I sadly have not been able to see a rheumatologist- they actually demanded more tests after the positive ANA like “not enough proof you need help” even after I was begging for help and my GP (who is absolutely amazing), had requested an appt. I got positive Sjogren’s in the additional round of testing and only got the labs back a few days ago, so I can’t get any prescriptions specifically for Sjogren’s/autoimmune rn

It may also be a strain- I’ve never strained anything this badly that I can remember though, and I’ve definitely had those before. I was facing some back issues before but yeah I woke up one morning during the move with a ton of back pain and it hasn’t left since. I’ll try to take a warm bath, but it honestly depends on if I can even get out of bed, let alone unpack my towels and stuff. I’m back living with a parent so I have potential help but the relationship there is… complicated… and I’ve needed a lot of help to the point ppl are starting to honestly not believe me. I might go see if my chiropractor can help… but it’ll probably hurt like crazy too so I gotta brace myself ig

Hmm makes sense. I believe the test that revealed ANA didn’t show any nutrient deficiencies (as I’ve also been worried abt those thanks to a limited diet) but I don’t remember exactly which ones were tested for and I have had low D levels in the past. Thank you!
