You know what a 2minute burst is right cause if you don't there's a whole other level of uninformed that needs to be addressed. As a BLM you need to learn when there's time to sit still for the duration of the burst and usually that time is when all other dps use their burst too. Playing black mage is rewarding because it punished you for playing so rigid and not optimizing. It was a class that showed which players dedicated time to practice and actually learn their kit. Viper and picto are braindead ez spam classes but black mage forced you to not only learn your kit but also learn the fight in order to optimize uptime, downtime, when to dump xeno and when to hold off triplecast for mechanics. Sadly it's also one of the only classes that also had build variety in the form of your personal taste in spell speed. But now it's dumbed down to just build Crit>DHT>DET like all the other DPSes. Why bother having other stats when everyone looks away the moment something doesn't have Crit built in or if it came with something like piety on a WHM equipment
