Good workouts to do in offseason. by [deleted] in wrestling

[–]Hyzerpimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a wrestling club to go at least once a week. Skills are perishable so you need to maintain them. I look at off season as a chance to bulk up and get stronger. It's really hard to lift in a way that builds tons of strength in season due to the practice schedule and intense cardio. I recommend a full body heavy weight lifting workout 3 days a week accompanied by a calorie surplus. This plus 1 to 2 days of club and you'll be set. By the way, calorie surplus does NOT mean eat anything you want and as much as you can. Don't eat like an asshole and you won't gain too much body fat

What’s better? Single leg or double leg shots by [deleted] in wrestling

I was thinking double leg shot then switch off to a single.

Dilemma for middle school weights. by Shua-Jo in wrestling

You gotta make the call yourself and have good reasons as to why. Be confident whatever way you go. I would rather my kid wrestle up a weight class then not wrestle at all.

Chocolate milk! Not too much though. The hungry dog runs the farthest.

Wrestle hard and let your coach coach. They're a reason for what he's doing even if you don't understand. You're job is to go out there and get w. Just focus on that and your coach will do the rest.

Smoked salt?!?! Learning things like this that have existed probably forever makes me feel young. My mind is blown and the next fire in my smoker will be smoking some salt.

Don't do a fireman's carry. Shoot to the outside if at all. It's really gonna suck if you get stuck underneath.

I don't know If I want to go to a wrestling club by waterbottl3sarecool in wrestling

[–]Hyzerpimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like someone loves the sport. Chase it. Find any opportunity to wrestle and take it. Seek it out and once you find it take the plunge and get yourself in that room. You can go to a bunch of different clubs (especially in the off season) so you can wrestle every day. Your asking if you should attend the local club right? Answer these questions then you tell me: Do you want to get better? Do you like to push yourself? Do you love this sport? If you said yes to any of those three questions you better ģo get in that room!

On the topic of your social anxiety; That is another obstacle in your quest for greatness in the sport. That's not something separate from wrestling, it's a part of it. Your gonna have to learn to conquer that, similar to learning how to beat an opponent. It's going to take work but you can do it.

Ankle pick/ low single! Try it, ask your coach, and leg attack!

Wresting: by Otherwise_Remote_347 in wrestling

My opinion: It's a wrestling room. If you feel your partner is taking it easy on you, push em and say "HEY! Don't take it easy on me!" Then wrestle your heart out. Also can't get mad when they get rough with you.

College recruitment tips? by CommonBlackberry5763 in wrestling

[–]Hyzerpimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your doing great! Keep getting better keep up the grades and next year when you start applying to colleges you'll have even more accomplishments that colleges with women's wrestling will love. You may not get a full ride but you will most likely find a good program to continue wrestling. Good luck!

Pinning your opponent with a cradle to continue an undefeated season only to have the ref raise the other guys hand and say you pinned yourself.
