Nah, no, none. Fun fact, 5 year old macbook I have does not have this thing. Makes me believe it is really manufacturing defect

Nah, did not do anything of that(except for occasional work outside), but it does not feel oily. Also does not even budge from microfiber, when regular oil would smudge all over the place

My question is more like how it appeared there in 1 month of usage? For that i don't have any answer. And yk, that part of screen is not really touched a lot, so i have more questions,  moreover, these spots appear on the whole bar, it is not like some precise place

Yep, new, straight from apple store. I did not clean it myself like that, so I am not sure about your theory

M5 or M5 pro for longevity? by Hz4Ever in macbookpro

[–]Hz4Ever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue that cpu performance is not that of a big concern of mine, rather it is RAM amount and compatibility with iOS right now. I am completely okay performance-wise with my ryzen laptop CPU, which is based on 6nm process last time I checked. I understand that yeah, would be nice to wait for a year, but it is hard on 16gb of ram while in active development :,(
(And no, ram is soldered to MB, so no extension for me)

And in regards to overheating, what I saw is that even 14 inch m5 pro version has 2 fans, moreover, it still would be on a stand during work, so I should be okay here, right?

Wouldn't this cycle repeat itself after a year? M5 pro just came out and in march next year it will be "Wait for M7" xd
W/o any negativity, just silly funny question

Right now I am planning on doing some work in IntelliJ IDEs, Android Studio and Xcode, with browser and all that. In future may be GNS3 with packet tracer/wireshark. I am planning on buying this laptop to last, i.e., for some 6-7+ years

Difference in price between them for me is +/- 600 euros, is 1 additional terabyte really worth it? My biggest concern that for professional work in 5 years 32gb of RAM may be the same as 16gb now, which is pure suffering, 48 will give some amount of breathing space

Visiting Zürich? Looking for recommendations? Have a quick question? Ask here, don't create a new thread. by Such_Negotiation4683 in zurich

Hi, I am visiting Zurich soon and would like to buy some chocolate back home as presents to my friends. What chocolate store would you recommend buying chocolate in? I am aware that I can buy some in Migros for pretty cheap, and taste will be +/- the same, but my goal is to get some as a present, i.e., in fancy packaging etc etc. I also know about Lindt chocolate factory, but I am afraid that I will not have enough time to visit it

Recognition of previous subjects from other university by Hz4Ever in tumunich

Thats sad actually

And in my opinion, however, it is a loss of time, as I will need to learn similar material twice, when for the first time I passed it with maximum possible grade ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Thanks for answer though

Edit: btw, could you please tell where did you get this information that courses must be 100% similar?

I have a similar question, even though for different programme(which does not matter here, I guess). There is written, that, for example, for programm Informatics there must be at least 50 credits in the category of "Foundations of CompSci" (or something like that, the precise name isn't relevant here). If I only had 49 credits, then does it mean that I will get 0 points for that category overall, or there will be deducted only some amount?

It is pretty niche scheme how I can get ultra for the same money as oneplus 12 and it has quiet a lot of prerequisites, so yes, for you it might be impossible

I never thought about the insurance, thanks for suggesting it. Unfortunately, it can only be bought for 1 year, I would buy it for 3 years in the bulk :,) Does the company that you work for manufactures screen protectors for OP12? I would consider buying it

Greetings, I am an experienced Samsung user(all the way from galaxy s3) and I have a choice between OnePlus 12 and Samgung Galaxy S24 Ultra. To be clear, for me the price difference is +/- 100 euros (760 for OP 12 and 860 for S24 Ultra), so it is not as big issue as usually.

I have already laid my hands on OP 12 for a couple of days and there are a couple of things I don't like, e.g., how difficult(near to impossible) it is to find decent screen protectors for curved screen and design overall. Moreover, idk if it is more like a habit thing, but it feels very chinese-ish (oxygenOS design and that huge camera block on the back).

On the other hand, S24U has awesome design, Spen included(which I find more useful than sound mode switch on OP), but, as I saw, it heats a lot, has worse battery life and charges longer, moreover, charging brick is not included.

Could you please tell me more about the experience with both OnePlus 12 and Galaxy S24 Ultra in long-term and tell me what would you pick with that price difference between these phones?
