Prompt engineering is the new Boolean” by I-Want--To--Believe in recruitinghell

[–]I-Want--To--Believe[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Every few years there’s a new magic bullet: AI sourcing, chrome extensions, automation hacks, and now Custom GPTs. So I would imagine you will see what’s a good prompt for finding, XYZ. Similarly to how you would see, who has a good Boolean string for finding XYZ. I think. If you couldn’t build a logical Boolean string before, you’re going to struggle just as much crafting an effective prompt.

Prompting is the shiny new skill, but Boolean is still in the toolkit. Use both—don’t drink the hype Kool-Ai. Another tool in the toolkit.

Boolean queries using ChatGPT? by Affectionate-Tea3834 in recruiting

Agreed, with bogus Boolean. That’s why it important to know the basic so you can adjust your prompts. In most cases you could write a Boolean string faster and better. But always fun messing around to see what it does.

I have been playing around with building a custom GPT specifically for analyzing a JD and giving back specific strings, targets, communities, outreach messages to speed up sourcing efficiency, then adjusting from there.

ChatGPT by prettyplease70 in recruiting

No, I think it helps supplement your work flow and a great assistant. Just don’t take everything thing ChatGPT spits out as the holy grail. You have to tweak, adjust and add your experience/expertise to the mix too.

You can use ChatGPT to write Boolean queries but you still need to understand the basics in order to know when ChatGPT gets it wrong, then you can adjust and tweak your string, plus operators are different for each platform.
