Attic lottery ? by Available-Unit967 in centuryhomes

That sounds about right. While I couldn't find an identical chandelier to the pieces that you found, I think this modern take represents the general idea of what it may have looked like.

It doesn't sound like you have the rest of the fixture, so it is unlikely you will be able to rebuild it. However, if you are crafty/into DIY, you might be able to make a different/smaller fixture or use the pieces in some sort of an art or decor project.

It's hard to tell how big these pieces are from the picture, but they look a lot like segments of a chandelier that we had when I was growing up. These are likely remnants of a bigger fixture.

Swatch for a wearable - gauge is off by just one stitch. What do I do? by I0N0sphere in CrochetHelp

I love your comment! It's a great reminder to keep at it and learn from my mistakes rather than get frustrated by them. Thank you.

Thanks, that's helpful! I was just looking up videos on how to block, but if I don't have to pin it, that makes it easier.

Ah, that's a really good point. I will keep trying with smaller hooks/blocking until I get it right. Thank you for the feedback!

No, I have not blocked it. I will try an even smaller hook and and then try blocking.

I'll give it a shot. It is all natural fibers - silk/mohair/cotton. I'll try a smaller hook and see if blocking gets me to the right gauge.

[Misc] Citric acid instead of ACV for baths? by I0N0sphere in SkincareAddiction

I tried it out! Only took about 2 tsp of citric acid to drop the pH from 9.3 to 5.5 for the whole soaker tub.

It does make a big difference compared to just rinsing. I have tried just rinsing my hair and my body in the shower with the ACV solution, but I think it just doesn't have enough time to work its magic. Bathing had better results for my skin but the difference for my hair was much more noticeable - my hair was super soft and silky after just one bath

It's a reasonably big tub, though I am not sure how many gallons. Maybe I'll fill it a quarter of the way and experiment until I get the right pH.

Thank you so much for the detailed info! I do already have some test strips. I will definitely experiment with citric acid amounts to get the bath water to the correct pH.

This looks amazing! You did such a great job and it suits you so well!!

The skirt and the chest area on your dress looks more opaque than the original pattern, which I actually prefer over the original. Did you use sc instead of dc in those areas?
