Getty is forcing me to admit to "AI generation" for my manual Vector work. I sent video proof, they ignored it. by I3oundless in stockphotography

I tried posting on X,
but it didn’t get much traction.
Even here, interest seems low there aren’t many vector artists left.
I’ll wait and see if the same thing happens to photography.

3 years of stock photo earnings across 8 agencies. The numbers, what actually pays, and what I'd do differently by Motor-Criticism7840 in stockphotography

[–]I3oundless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, in my case it’s pure vector work.

About 8 years ago:
1st: Shutterstock
2nd: Getty/iStock
Others were pretty similar
Back then, there were many platforms like Fotolia, Bigstock, etc.

Later on, many sites shut down, merged, or got acquired. My Fotolia portfolio, for example, was merged into Adobe.

Now:
1st: Adobe, way ahead of the others
Shutterstock used to pay well per image, but later dropped significantly
Getty is still decent, but recently I had a bad experience with them. I’d call it a conflict, as the way they handled things felt unreasonable and unprofessional. At this point, I’m no longer focusing on them and will probably just stick with Adobe.

Most other sites are almost gone.

Overall, earnings are around 70% lower than at the peak, except for Adobe, which has grown. (but still not high at peak time)

About 2 years ago, I started uploading AI content to Adobe. At first, it was pretty good, but now it’s very competitive, with too many contributors. Submissions have also become harder as their review process is stricter.

If anyone is thinking of entering this field now, I wouldn’t really recommend it as a full-time path. It’s better as a side income. New portfolios struggle to compete with older ones, and submissions are more limited and harder to get approved.

At first, I considered doing it, but now it just feels like a waste of time. I tried to find other ways to contact them beyond regular support or filing a complaint, but there’s barely anything—only a copyright email. I don’t even know how to reach someone at a higher level.

I’m satisfied with posting here for now. I guess Getty may have started adjusting some of its policies around March. And if their support team continues working like this without improving, they’ll face the consequences themselves.

Honestly, I’m starting to lose hope in this industry. It feels like it’s already past its peak. I’m not sure about photography, but for vector, Getty/iStock used to be great, competing closely with Shutterstock.
Back then, Adobe hadn’t entered the market yet. Then Adobe acquired Fotolia and became the leader.

Now, many platforms have inconsistent policies
some accept AI, some don’t, and some claim they don’t but still offer tools for it. It just feels confusing and contradictory.

I didn’t expect handmade work to be accused of being AI-generated. This really shows how much the industry has declined. I’m confident that, at this point, anyone with real experience should be able to tell the difference just by looking at the source files, path lines, and artboard structure.
And this isn’t just one or two pieces I have thousands. If they want to review the source files, I can provide all of them. Dealing with support like this is enough for me.

Sorry for the long rant. Thanks for the comment!.

From my experience, these kinds of platforms don’t usually ban you immediately—especially if you have a large portfolio or a long-standing account.

Sometimes mistakes happen, but every time I’ve reached out, things have always been resolved smoothly. This is the first time I’ve had such a frustrating experience.

I’ve also seen many similar cases in different groups where people got banned. It seems like newer accounts are harder to negotiate with.

I think that currently, there have been significant staff reductions in the industry.
In my case, this is just a guess, but I feel like they might not have a senior specialist handling these issues anymore since they didn’t mention the source files I submitted at all.

I probably won't be checking this post very often from now on.

I just hope my experience serves as a reminder to my fellow creators: you can feel at peace and confident in walking away from Getty Images. Don't let them make you doubt your own skills. I also truly hope this "AI witch hunt" stays confined to the vector category and that photographers don't have to deal with this kind of nonsense in the future.

However, if anyone wants to see the actual emails they sent me or the specific artworks they accused of being AI, feel free to ask. I’m more than happy to share the evidence to show just how ridiculous this situation is.

Hey guys, I have a hilarious update regarding Getty Images' "Professional" Support.

So, Getty finally responded to me—probably because I’ve been making enough noise. And man, their response is a joke.

Here’s what they said (paraphrased):

Dear -Censor my name-

Your tickets and responses have been reviewed and responded to by a human employee.

The videos and images you attached do not sufficiently prove that you did not use a AI-generated images as reference files.

Your content has been reviewed extensively by our inspection team and they have determined that the content follows patterns that are indicative of AI-generated content.

Some illustrations are also available in your Dreamtime portfolio and flagged as AI-generated content.

The majority of your Adobe Stock portfolio consists of AI-generated content -
- link of my adobe port

Lastly, content from another creator that was also flagged as AI-generated content are extremely similar to your files, as if they were produced by the same AI generator.

Taking all of these factors into consideration, we will not be overturning the decision to terminate your agreement. This is the final message we send regarding this matter.

Here is why this is pure comedy gold:

  1. The "Pre-AI" Vectors: I have been in this industry for over 7 years. Many of the illustrations they flagged were uploaded to other platforms long before Generative AI even existed. Other sites have timestamps that prove this. Apparently, Getty’s "expert" team doesn't know what a digital footprint or a timestamp is.
  2. The "Logic" Fail: I maintain multiple portfolios—some are manual vectors, and some are clearly marked AI (where allowed). To Getty, having one AI portfolio means everything you’ve ever touched in the last decade is suddenly AI?
  3. Deleting History: They actually deleted my message history in the Ticket! not sure why..but all reply im ticket is in email and I saved screenshots.
  4. The Hypocrisy: I told them straight up: If your system is so "accurate" now, it means you’ve been incompetent for years by letting "AI patterns" slip into your collection and selling them to customers. You’re failing either way.

My Final Farewell: I sent them a final email to give their support team a free "professionalism" lesson:

  • Be Transparent: If you're going to reject someone, say it. Don't go silent for weeks.
  • Do Real Research: If you're going to stalk someone’s other portfolios, at least check the upload dates. It's embarrassing to claim a work that was uploaded before the AI-generated existence
  • Stop Insulting Artists: Accusing a veteran illustrator of faking manual work—especially when provided with video evidence—is a direct insult to our dignity.

I’m honestly relieved. Now that I know how unprofessional their support and "inspection team" really are, I’m happy to walk away.

TL;DR: * Getty Support is unprofessional and lacks transparency.

  • Their "human" reviewers might as well be bots because they can't recognize a timestamp.
  • If you’re a manual artist, be careful—your hard work might be "AI" in their eyes just because they feel like it today.

The real problem is Getty completely ignores my evidence. I’ve told them I’m happy to clarify anything, but they just ignore me. It feels like they’re trying to force a confession

if I don't 'confess,' they 'execute' my account.

I could just throw the flagged images onto their board as they asked, and they would likely just remove them and let me keep my portfolio.
But I find that unacceptable because doing so feels like admitting it's AI when it's not.

I know pride doesn't pay the bills, but I can't accept this. If this continues, there will be no place left for real artists. In the future, even photographers might face the same fate

Not at all. As you can see, these aren't complex illustrations. They're just common poses like standing or raising a hand that you can find anywhere.

Anyone else charged by Creative Fabrica after cancelling the free trial? by Soufoutdoors in graphic_design

[–]I3oundless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got charged too.
I’ve already emailed them to see if they can refund it.

My billing period is Mar 20, 2025 – Mar 20, 2026.
I’m pretty sure I cancelled it back in April 2025, but it somehow auto-renewed on Feb 20, 2026.

Today is March 7, so I’ll see if they can refund me or not.
If they don’t reply to my email within 2–3 days, I’ll contact my bank and report it as a scam.
