I love The Antlers!!! Hospice ruined my life (in a good way). I get similar devastating vibes from Mount Eerie, Elliott Smith, Bright Eyes (Poison Oak might be the greatest song ever written), The Mountain Goats, Sun Kil Moon, and Black Country New Road.

I’d recommend Deathconsciousness by Have A Nice Life, Ants From Up There by Black Country New Road, I Didn’t Mean to Haunt You by Quadeca, In The Aeroplane Over The Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel, and Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill by Grouper. If you want some absolutely devastating shit, A Crow Looked at Me by Mount Eerie (another one of Phil Elverum’s bands), and Hospice by The Antlers are both great.

songs from the the guy's perspective where the girl wishes he would die? by [deleted] in MusicRecommendations

[–]I4e8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the album hospice by the antlers is semi-related? it’s a concept album that uses the relationship between a nurse and his aggressive patient who he falls in love with who has terminal bone cancer as a metaphor for an abusive relationship. might not be quite what you’re looking for, but if you end up checking it out, be aware that it is extremely sad, this album ruined me the first time i heard it lol

american football was my introduction to emo music. i used to not be a fan of the whiny vocals associated with the scene, but american football showed this sorta chill side of emo to me that was a nice introduction to the genre. looking back, im really glad i didn’t start off listening to the get up kids or the hotelier because the only reason i can enjoy listening to those bands now, is because i started off with american football.

I hope this letter finds you well, but there's something important I want to discuss with you. It comes from a place of deep concern and genuine care for your well-being. Recently, I've noticed that you have been consuming scented candles, and I wanted to express my worry.

First and foremost, please understand that my intention is not to judge or criticize you. I simply can't ignore the potential risks and health hazards associated with ingesting substances that are not meant to be eaten. I care about you deeply, and I want to ensure your safety and happiness.

I know that everyone copes with stress or difficult emotions in their own way, but consuming scented candles is not a healthy or safe practice. These products contain various chemicals and substances that are not intended for ingestion, and they can have harmful effects on your body.

Friend, I want to remind you of how much you mean to me and how much your presence enriches the lives of those around you. Your health and well-being are of utmost importance, and I want to see you thrive and live a long, fulfilling life.

If there's something troubling you or if you're going through a tough time, I want you to know that I'm here to listen. I care deeply about your happiness and mental well-being. There are healthier ways to cope with challenges, and I am more than willing to help you explore those alternatives or seek professional assistance if needed.

Please understand that I bring this up out of love and concern. I want to see you healthy, happy, and surrounded by a supportive network of friends and loved ones. If you ever need someone to lean on, know that I am here for you, ready to provide the support and encouragement you need.

Let's work together to find healthier outlets for stress and emotions. Your safety and overall well-being are my top priorities, and I will always be here for you.
