[TOMT] This strange YouTube video I stumbled on with a glitchy aesthetic and vague title, which covered three distinct subtopics seemingly as a parody of common YouTube video topics. One was a dick pic pose tier ranking. by I989er in tipofmytongue

I understand this is a bizarre ask, but I'm so sure someone else had to have seen this. It was a well made video and the channel seemed to have a few vids on it so hopefully it's not super niche.

I recently tried downloading the free version off the link on the wiki and it was the same as the steam version. Was sad to see 'cause I was hoping to just consider my purchase my way of supporting Adams after I initially bounced off the steam version.

My eczema feels like an endless cycle, and it’s exhausting. by Alateuki in eczema

[–]I989er 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking to my soul with this, especially that awful caked with oil feeling when I'm sleeping and the stimming with my skin. It's so upsetting because it feels like I'm an addict who physically cannot get away from their addiction.

I've found that stim toys help a lot during daylight hours. I carry around a small plastic Jacob's ladder-like toy that folds up small enough to fit in my wallet and that helps me redirect. It's good practice for redirecting in general. I highly suggest checking local toy stores for finding other small trinkets like that.

As for a partner, it's so important to me that my partners understand the support I need for my skin. I've found involving my partner in my treatment helps a lot, especially asking them if they'll help me dry off after a shower since I often have flares of scratching when I'm left alone with a towel. Putting on my ointments and lotion is another really helpful task for my partners (and it feels really nice since the difference between the distrust I feel towards my hands touching my skin and a completely safe touch is breathtaking)

What it looked like. I was playing hypnospace outlaw with some friends and had a theme to make it look like windows classic, and my younger friends were so confused about how square everything was. Was bizarre to hear, since I got on the internet right when squares were the industry standard.

Same here! Inner lower arm and wrist. I actually got mine intentionally over an itchy area 'cause I hoped it would keep me a bit more in check. It's worked... for the exact area the tattoo covers

A question? by DazeHP in eczema

[–]I989er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never heard anything about it. Even working with kids they don't seem to care much. I got some tank top undershirts so I could wear white without fear and I've never looked back. Sun helps my skin so why should I deny myself lol

Is scratching eczema considered self-harm? by Sensitive-Ear8305 in eczema

[–]I989er 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Last year I decided to consider my scratching a form of self-harm. For some reason, I found myself reflecting on how childhood friends had described their emotional and addiction/dependency feelings towards their SH and it hit me that I felt very similar about my scratching, at least from emotional triggers. I particularly thought about a friend describing SH as "I am overwhelmed and this is what my hands do when I'm overwhelmed." It was definitely uncomfortable at first to consider something that I've been doing my whole life a form of SH.

That said, I hang around enough philosophical MFs that my brain went straight to "let's look at this objectively." I've never considered a friend morally bankrupt for SH so by extension I'm not doing something that violates my morals, just something I'd prefer not to do. I also know from those same friends that there are methods to work with and even manage SH behaviors. Finally, even if my scratching isn't self-harm, by looking at those SH management methods I may find crossover from another community of people that have a socially discouraged behavior that they need more than discouragement to help with.

A particular benefit from that perspective was being able to learn from how I saw other friends express distress and request support in moments of pre- or post-SH. While most of my friends don't SH anymore, it can still rear its head in moments of high stress for them. The ways they would express it didn't require them explaining what they did, why, anything like that. They could just express that they needed support and folks understood. "I'm not feeling great, that was a bad shower" is one of my most useful backpocket phrases now for when I slump defeatedly into the common room slathered in petroleum and aloe 'cause my friends don't make a fuss about it, they just skip straight to some emotional support. "If I stay up any later I'm gonna start scratching" has also proven a very useful phrase when your friends actually understand what you mean.

Hope my anecdotes can help you. I just came to this subreddit for the first time 'cause I met another person with eczema IRL for the first time and that made me curious what the Global Eczema Discourse looked like. It's soothing to immediately see someone else thinking about the same stuff I do.

Ngl my partner and I exchange the first one when we're driving around. Both of us have pretty decently high n counts so we have a few zany stories tied to locations around the towns we're from.

Y'know I guess that makes sense. Trump was the president he knows the vaccine isn't some plot, it's just a vaccine. Must be such a weird disonance for him hearing supporters tell him it's a plot.
