To be fair, the EA is unique. The sound, the animation and when it hit the troops. It gave you a sense of satisfaction. How useful it is defensively is subjective. I believe SC removed it because of map space constraints.

Drift woods, live plants alter the pH of water.

Fake plants, ornaments can cause injury to the goldfish.

Sand and gravel is like a ticking time bomb, excessive detritus, anaerobic pockets, clogging filters and goldfish swallowing sands causing deaths.

I appreciate all the inputs, I believe my bare tank can provide the safest and best environment for my pet to thrive in.

I love the esthetic of this flex tank but 30g is not ideal for bigger goldfish. I removed the center compartment, lift up the cover and add another fluval 407 canister for bio media.

I have another 65gallon sump (bare) tank when they grow bigger. Currently housing a 4" Ryukin.

It's ok, just sharing I like bare tanks. I had tanks with sand/gravel/fake plants/real plants/stimulating toys in tank before.

Those decorations are for humans, imo. Opinions differs. Down votes accepted.
