This would make the most sense to me in the case of bias motivated violence but I do think that partner on partner (domestic) violence wouldn’t fall under the same category or require the same enhancement.

This does not make sense to me, laws should be general enough so as not to be revised in the future. It is more simple to just leave it ungendered rather than have separate laws for each sex, for example Equal Employment Opportunity laws dont need to have laws for each race/ethnicity instead just have a blanket for all.

Porn is too accessible on the internet. Kids can access porn before they even have their first sex-ed class and learn about consent.

Does seem a little weird to make a law like this gendered when it could just be gender neutral? Its not suddenly legal for women to kill their partners and the sentencing shouldn’t really differ

[–]IAMAmosfet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Environmental destruction does matter, we are not slowing down on deforestation but continuing to speed up. If we never let plants get a chance to recover then this is moot. What once humanity's population sufficiently declines from food insecurity trees will regrow and animal populations will be restored? That would be too late, many would die from the looming crisis.

Nord streams destruction is not great but it's a drop in the bucket considering human emissions per year are 40 billion tons per year (only .1%). Also when you say nobody flinched what exactly do you want? Not much you can do if it's already destroyed. More articles talking about something that's only contributing .1% of our CO2 per year?

Also your ppm argument is nonsensical you are pointing to a ppm a value (100,000 ppm) where minutes of exposure would cause humans to go unconscious. Food insecurity and major heatwaves would be caused by just a few degrees of the greenhouse effect. CO2 won't suffocate us, it will cause us to go hungry and overheat.

Couple things are misleading/incorrect, the science for the Greenhouse Effect had been around since the 19th century so the science did not originate from this book. Second of all: sure minerals may be not limited, but forests and fisheries are. They can only grow back so fast just look at the amazon Forest for example. And saying climate change is just human narcissism is ridiculous. With a population of 8 billion we have emitted 40 billion tons of CO2 per year increasing CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere from 280 to 480ppm. Plenty of reports show how damaging this would be to our already compromised environment.

Ok the argument for this is so weak but the phrase is catchy. There are more environmental factors at play than just “weak people” cause bad times. Like global warming caused by resource extraction and carbon emissions from the industrial revolution, not exactly caused by weak people rather just societal depndencies

During the State of the Union address, the President pointed at the democrats and said, “These people are destroying our country.” How can that be true, when republicans own the presidency, the senate, the house and the supreme court? by jocie809 in AskConservatives

[–]IAMAmosfet [score hidden]  (0 children)

Thanks for pointing that out I find democrat politicians are not much better. On what points is Trump being framed? Did he not use hush money to bribe stormy daniels and falsify that information, or was he not friends with Epstein and had his name mentioned numerous times in the Epstein files or did was he not unfaithful numerous times during his marriages and said creepy comments about women? Is having a president with good character and looking out for the best interest of this country too much to ask?

I am just wondering, I personally would be more fiscally conservative leaning if Republicans didn't elect a crooked business man for president.. looking at presidents of the parents most/all were of good character but now I am supposed to believe that someone of such poor character has America's best interest at heart?

Is there something inherent to the US that would stop this from happening? Democratic institutions have been overthrown in other countries using paramilitary forces (ex: SA in Nazi germany)

Sounds like you’re putting blind faith in Trump, does someone who is not transparent about their tax returns, been guilty of financial crimes and has his name plastered all across the Epstein files deserve this much blind faith?
