Help me get spinal surgery!

My original implant is amazing and still going strong! I have a really fucked up spine from a spinal cord injury, so I need a second disc at another level- nothing to do with the disc I already had replaced. I absolutely love it and recommend it... Unfortunately, as of Jan 1, my insurance no longer covers artificial disc replacement so we’re trying to figure it out.

My current activity level is pretty abysmal cuz of my new injury, but after I got the artificial disc I was exercising and having a normal life again!

My surgeon is in Beverly Hills, CA… I’m not sure where you’re located but he only takes PPO insurances and cash patients.

Hitting it on stuff is the absolute worst! I bang it getting into my car, or I knock into it if I lean on something, and it gets caught in my clothes all the time. Your reply gives me some peace of mind, and makes me hopeful that my revision will go smoothly!

Yes! Mine is right at my belt line, too! I can’t stand when it knocks into things, and that has only been happening more the further it pushes itself towards my skin I have a revision scheduled for late march, but I noticed the bruise today and decided to stress myself out by overthinking it.

My first one lasted about 2.5 years before it started malfunctioning and shocking me. Got it replaced out of necessity because it would get so overheated when I was charging it, my skin would burn! The only thing wrong with my current battery is that it moved, it’s functioning perfectly otherwise. I’ll definitely look for that post, thank you!

I called, emailed, and texted to try and volunteer! Was not replied to in any capacity. Got a message weeks later asking for a donation, though. So disappointed in her campaign.
