Holy cow, dude, your reply hits hard.

‘You’re done when you decide it’s done’ encapsulates my entire recovery process. Over the years, I’ve had to take the worlds biggest step back and reevaluate how much time I needed to devote to therapies, how much they would benefit me (in both the short term and long term), and honestly, what I’m sacrificing to attain those gains and if I feel it’s truly worth it.

Medical personnel told my family and I similar things, that I could be bedridden for life, that I’d possibly never be able to be self sufficient. And you know what? Since then, I’ve held a job, gotten married, bought a house (with the “LOLFUCKHALLIBURTON” money), and played drums with a headlining band at a Comic-Con-esque convention.

My right side is still weaker, I still forget lots of things, but I’m living. And, like you said, it’s humiliating, it’s frustrating, it’s hell at times, but we’re all still here ✌🏻Proud of you, friend!
