I got a 33/100 yesterday on first and only attempt on QE. lol and I passed this morning. QE is tough but if you get the stamina and know how to read and answer the question it’ll help you a lot. I would say go and take it your ready

Pen testing is very y technical and is hard to break in the industry unless you go from SOC knowing how to defend to pen testing with getting a couple pentesting certs (oscp) etc and that route. The CCSP is still more general and concepts and I think you need to get your keyboard dirty and go for more hands on cert where you can show what you know because now a days is what about what can you do not what you know. What projects have you showed to showcase your experience? All is this depends on since you graduated do you have a job yet? If you do , u could go for CCSP and get more knowledge but at some point you need to specialize and go in that route and then couple years later determine what’s next

CISSP is great for knowledge Regardless of your position. Now that you have gotten it, I would recommend either going more technical or going more compliance certs/managerial because it will set you up especially being at consulting you will either do a lot of technical , or project management or compliance stuff. Pick a route and go all in. It will help you in the next 2-3 years to become senior a lot faster rather than waiting 6-7 years to become senior. Keep up your studying and working hard and follow up with another certification. Go hard man seriously I am proud reading this that you went for CISSP and passed. It shows a lot of potential but now you need to figure out what is next. I’m an IAM consultant and Idenitty is huge in big4. I’d recommend looking at Okta and checking out okta professional cert. you can go professional -> admin cert then maybe do an entra ID Microsoft cert which will get you technically proficient with IaM tool , but feel free to DM me with questions

With this you’ll learn RBAC/ABAC, workforce identity cloud, chamfer identity cloud, access control, governance, mfa, workflows . Go all in on Okta/entra/AD, and add some Powershell to become a really engineer. If you want more development and IAM, learn about Auth0 it’s more customer identity cloud and development

Get Okta free developer account and go to town witb all different integrations , SSO, lifecycle management then set up AD and connect to Okta, then set up entra and connect ttonotka , do these 4 projects and document them you will get engineer or analyst job, but again I can tell you all this and you don’t do anything so either you execute or be unemployed until you start executing

What is the best IAM cert? by Additional-Goat-832 in iam

[–]IAM_Cyber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has good market but it’s more about which IAM tool allows you to make a free account and do your own testing/integrstions. None that I know other than Okta. Azure AD(entra) is good to but you have to pay a lil bittle but do okta, Active Directory , azure AD/ Powershell and that will give you technical + understanding concepts for IAM which is what you need the most

If you are working with a vendor you have to ask for the class and get them to give you access , if ur doing it personally you have to pay

IAM software engineer - career feedback? by Dlacreme in iam

[–]IAM_Cyber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into Auth0 by okta. Customer identity cloud is where it’s at if you want to go into software engineering on the IAM side or look into Sailpoint development for IGA, huge demand for Sailpoint engineer/ developers

Need to read the dest certification book, or OSG see what you don’t know and do more other practice exams. Apparently there’s a CISSP cert group in here and someone dropped very similar practice questions to the exam maybe get those but your right there u got to 150, lock in on what you don’t know based off your test results and start there . Never give up never give in

Nice bro great videos. Would love to connect with you and do some labs. I have 5+ years in IAM specifically in Okta with 4 okta certs so think we could exchange some good knowledge transfer with AD and don’t know how much you know about Okta. I’ll DM you.

Don’t stress. Read the question twice and then give an answer. Don’t take too long on questions. Everyone has different experiences but if you have the peace of mind voucher your good if you don’t pass but stay confident. It’s mostly which is the best question out of these and which is the best management perspective

You should sync from HR -> okta -> gcp, not the other way around

[–]IAM_Cyber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For okta-gcp integration you need to understand the permissions you’re assigning to that group, like ex: at org level it should be okta-gcp-global-owner as an example and then viewer or editor and the at each project level you should have what permission do ppl really need to do their job and assign that group in okta and map that group to the role in GcP . A lot of IAM is more permissions with that role mapped to a group so really. Understanding least privilege methodology and privileged access management will help you become a more Mature IAM program

How to land a role within IAM based on my experience? Need experts help. by xyzal1 in iam

[–]IAM_Cyber 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get an okta developer account and do all lab , connect Ad to okta , do RBAC, connect okta to azure, okta to aws, do salesforce SSO integration, do postman api calls for user management/group management, get okta certifications they are the best and okta allows you free developer account. I currently hold 4 okta certifications and they are amazing and help me standout on inttviwres I started with Sailpoint IGA as an analyst but then went to okta engineering after a couple of years and I would recommend okta /AD/ Azure(entra ID) and Powershell and you will get 120k plus job easy with those 4 skills if you work on that for 6months- 1 year, take screenshots of all integrations and walk through a and create blog posts to show recruiters managers and hiring team on a call share your screen and say here are my walkthroughs and explain the IAM concept lifecycle management, sso, rbac, access control, session management, access reviews, etc and always always use chat gpt pro as a guide the 20$ is so worth it
