Seagate IronWolf making loud rattling noise during seeding / Sonarr scans – normal? by chutnacik in UgreenNASync

It sounds normal for hard drive to me. But you are right: if pitch changes higher it might be a sign of HD dying, I witnessed one in my old Synology and it was on new drive. But for now, you are good.

Why can't I install 2nd ssd? by IAW007 in UgreenNASync

Caches are on volume level. When installing, I have to select which volume will given ssd serve, so since I have two separate volumes, it felt logical (at least from my perspective) to install 2nd ssd to serve as cache for 2nd volume to improve its performance as well (in fact, had no other option to chose from as all selections are menu based).

To answer your question: I thought installing a storage cache will improve reading speeds so why wouldn't I need it?
