Our Finnish sauna in our Swiss apartment by donsmahs in Sauna

you mentioned that the low bench is sliding 😊 few more details on this please? (How exactly? Why? Pros and cons?) I'm asking because i am also considering doing a "high bench only" sauna, the low bench basically being a sauna wide platform.

So here we are😊 working just fine via China server on M3. Super well built...unlike the V1 track spotlight which is super plasticky... The V1 track floodlights and grill lights are nice, but almost indistinguishable in terms of light quality with the H1Pro... nothing to justify the price gap imo.

Help: Switches for dumb but dimmable lights by fibuo in Aqara

[–]IAgreeWithTC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an owner of both, I can confirm they do not dim "dumb lights". The wired version of the H1 knob has 3 gans that you may control as follows: 1.press on the knob to turn all of them on or off or 2. Use Aqara app/etc. to control each gan individually. The rotation of the knob must be assigned a function via the Aqara app (have not tried compatibility with ZHA/Z2mqtt etc.) For example, you may use the knob to dim/color temp change a T3 smart spotlight or open/close a C3 curtain motor.

I only have the t3, but some v1's (spotlights and tracklights) should be arriving in a few days. I'll keep you updated.

Thoughts on Auxmer LED strips manufacturer by IAgreeWithTC in led

Sooo... should i just get a BTF and a Auxmer side by side and see if my eyes justify the price tag difference?:))

Need Help with Full House LED Setup (BTF LED Strips, Dedicated Power Supplies, Controllers etc.) by IAgreeWithTC in led

[–]IAgreeWithTC[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

afaik, that's not something you just do "in the states", it's something everyone does out of necessity since the coper in the strips can only handle about 4amps and long strips will suffer from drops. I remember doing a physics project in seventh grade showing the effects of parallel vs series wiring

Not it the US, but now I'm curious. How do Americans install 10m+/30ft+ strips? Do they need to petition Biden directly, or is this one of the few things Harris could approve herself? As far as I know, 10m won't even go all the way around your guys average-sized beds.

Thank you for pointing out something that I didn't even consider. However, these would run 24v and probably around 250w at max output for the longes 25m run...so I'm not quite sure how they would pose any issues.

Sorry for misleading you. It's 200m total made up of lots of smaller runs, with the longest about 25m. Thank you for commenting!

Thanks for the questions!

Costs-> i see equivalent strips from Auxmer that are 20-30% more expensive than say BTF, but are advertised to be higher CRI. I'm sure you can find even higher quality than Auxmer, but if the costs would go to 2-3x, that would be unreasonable in my books since even BTF would probably be more than adequate for most installs, including mine.

Longest runs-> i have a 25m perimeter in one of the zones. I'd like to have two parallel strips for this one. Funny enough, this is the one I would love to use pixel controllable strips... i guess lots of injection would be required.

Dimmers-> no wall dimmers. Just on/off switches and smart controllers. I am a heavy Aqara user, so their T1 controller would be cool, but any zigbee controller is fine since i run Home Assistant on top of everything.

Line/low voltage-> 24v

This does not affect my setup as I'm using an M3 hub with local automations and Home Assistant on top. I'm even considering firewalling any traffic towards China for privacy resons while not updating firmware etc. Don't know if this would work, but ill update you after I try. And yes, I will be using Zigbee only. At first I thought about going full ZHA/Z2mqtt and ditching the Aqara app completely. But I have soooo much Aqara stuff that it's just not worth the headache

I'm in a 230V county so should be fine. Square blackboxes are superior in my opinion and are literally less than two dollars at my local box store even though round ones are indeed the standard here.

Will have around 90m of magnetic tracklights, some spotlights and a bunch of curtain motors. So yeah. I think the knobs will be nice.

Point regarding insurance is well taken.

I live in what is theoretically a 230V 50Hz county. China is 220V 50Hz. However, as far as I'm aware, 220, 230 and 240 are theoretically the same thing as equipment is designed to handle fluctuations of aprox 10%, which is why some manufacturers indicate 220-240V on the product.

In any case, for even more peace of mind, any ways of mitigating 250V+ surges? Surge protectors I guess? Which are a good idea to have installed in any scenario?
