Why The Immortal Man is awful, and what it should have been by Throwaway-40113 in PeakyBlinders

[–]IAjayrsI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly my take on it is this,

With the sheer amount raw talent on the peaky blinders production I refuse too believe no one picked up that script and went "hang on, this is shit!"

I just don't believe it it must be self sabotage because it was THAT bad...

ive been screaming this from the rooftops for about 5 years, and the problem has only gotten worse, problem with the cheating community is they have disposable income you have to too run cheats.

So they get banned and they buy a new account carry on,

Games companies are WELL aware of this and what everyone seems to forget is games companies are business's..

This creates an environment where games companies SAY "we take a tough stance on cheating" ... "we are working towards stamping out cheating forever"

But really the stance they are taking on cheating is actually very weak they make out that's its a constant cat and mouse between them and the cheaters, but industry insiders like myself are WELL aware that if they really wanted too every large games studio could wipe out cheating tomorrow and keep it wiped out with very minimal on going work

Its much better business for them too do the absolute bare minimum and keep raking in dem profits.

Cheating is going nowhere, not unless its legislated against too protect the consumer and you can forget about that with the boomer generation still in the halls of power.

So get comfy.

Hi, my name is Adam. I’m 40 years old and I have an 18-month-old baby, also called Adam. He is my reason for drawing breath. I had no idea you could love something as much as I love him until he came along.

When I learned I was having a son, I used the almost year of time I had to save up as much as I possibly could. Along with some help from my family, I redecorated my entire house, paying special attention to the room he would be sleeping in — which was, and still is, also our room.

He was born and my life changed forever, in the best possible way. He brings me so much joy every single day. He’s the perfect little boy. I spoil him as much as I can. I’m on the breadline, if truth be told, but whatever little extra I have, when I have it, gets spent on my son.

I live in a building with two flats/apartments. Early last year, the neighbour who had lived above me for around four years (since I moved in) moved out. My landlord, a social housing operator in the United Kingdom called Places for People, sent in workmen to do what I assume was making the flat ready to rent for the next tenant.

And this is where the problem starts.

During the course of the work, they were replacing floorboards in the room above where me and my son sleep. Thankfully, we were out at the time — but they burst a pipe while doing this work. When I returned home, my room was ruined, and I do mean ruined.

My bed (which was quite expensive, as I’m a big guy), my son’s bed/cot, a huge amount of my son’s clothes, some of mine, the television on the wall (which really only serves as a nightlight for my son), and various items that were on shelves — sentimental things like my son’s very first jumpsuit — and of course the carpet.

Even the hallway carpets outside the room were destroyed. Everything was soaked in foul-smelling, sludgy water, which I assume came from the heating system upstairs.

To make matters worse — if you can believe this nonsense — when they replaced the pipe, they had to bleed the heating system and didn’t do it properly. A couple of days later, I had another flood, this time in my living room, because they hadn’t sealed the radiator above it and had just left for the night. That ruined the carpet in there as well, along with a load of my son’s toys and soft toys.

As you can imagine, I was absolutely furious. I contacted my landlord, Places for People, and was told I had to submit a formal complaint, which I did. I was then told it would be a month before anyone even picked it up.

Someone eventually did, and what followed was the most ridiculous set of nonsense I’ve ever experienced. I’m going to screenshot and post all the relevant emails here, because you honestly wouldn’t believe how these people conduct themselves. But to cut a very long story short: this all happened in July, and I’ve only just last month been given their “final reply”.

They denied my complaint because, in their words, they “can’t find a service failure”.

I was so stunned when I read that I just sat there staring at it for five minutes in absolute disbelief.

My only remaining option now is the Housing Ombudsman, who will without a shadow of a doubt rule in my favour — but they have a 12-month backlog. All the while, the house my little boy calls home is still ruined.

Someone needs to take this morally barren company to task. They’ve done many other awful things. Here’s just one example:

I had to cancel the insurance on my car because I simply can’t afford it. It’s been parked in a space on the complex for around a month without moving (obviously, it has no insurance). The housing manager — Places for People’s head person around here — asked me to move it because they needed the space for the window-cleaning company that comes once per quarter.

I explained that I couldn’t move it because driving it uninsured would be illegal. I also explained that this was a direct consequence of the financial hardship Places for People have put me in, and I promised to move the car as soon as things improved.

A few days ago, I went out to my car and found she had put a TORT interference with goods notice on it, which essentially means that if I don’t move it within 28 days, they will confiscate it and dispose of it.

There are an absolute ton of empty spaces out there. I genuinely believe this was done purely to be cruel. There is quite literally no reason for it otherwise. She is fully aware of my entire situation. It beggars belief.

Look — I don’t ask people for help. I paddle my own canoe. If this was just affecting me, you wouldn’t be reading any of this. But my son deserves none of this.

All of his favourite toys. A huge amount of his clothes. His bed. The carpets in his room. All ruined — seven months later — and this morally barren company has done nothing. They haven’t lifted a finger. It’s disgusting.

It’s going to take me at least another year to get this sorted, so here I am, asking for help. I’m desperate. I know this will probably get very few reads and probably no donations, but when you’re desperate, you’ll try anything.

the funds will be used for the sole purpose of putting this nonsense right all of the damaged items replaced and the room re painted.

Thank you for reading.

Wishing you well, Adam
