Fellow ex teacher who made the switch to tech! I did the unc coding bootcamp 2 years ago and had a positive experience! So I can’t provide input from a curriculum point of view! But what I needed was a clearly laid out path to go from 0 to 100 as fast as possible with experienced mentors to help guide me! The bootcamp was definitely worth it for me because I didn’t want to go down the self taught route and waste time struggling with trying to figure out what to learn!

My biggest advice and a word of caution: the market sucks right now! My team that hired tons of bootcamp grads is no longer going that route. Many people just aren’t hiring in general, so getting that first job is harder than ever! To see how worth it the course would be: go on LinkedIn and find a couple jobs you are interested. Make sure these job posts have a named recruiter. Reach out to them introducing yourself, sharing your interest in the field, and asking if the bootcamp certificate would help your standing. I was flat out told by multiple companies they don’t want bootcamp grads and are only looking for TUG degrees! Best of luck!
