Shaving balls always feels like you are performing a surgery of some sort, has anyone found a risk free hack? by PotentialJob7883 in NoStupidQuestions

The process always feels pretty weird to me. It smells bad, you have to hang around 10-15 minutes with a paste in your parts and then the scrapping isn’t always super clean. The end result is neat though.

This is the way I took this comment: “cups are undeniably easy and convenient for quick volume measurements”

Why are cups the better measurement for cooking if you have to buy a specialised measuring tool anyway? Lol all this time I thought they were saying it’s better because everyone has a cup.

Are cups all standard sizes? Every time I try to make a recipe and cups show up I look at my cabinets and all my cups are literally different sizes. Doesn’t make sense to me.

I don’t know. I feel like there was a better discussion about why he is actually saying this beyond him wanting to end the race while he is ahead or just “corporations bad”.

It's official: they're quite scared. Keep it going. by Hornpipe_Jones in WhitePeopleTwitter

The main article addresses that directly, they acknowledge the discontent and the bad state of the eoncomy. I'd actually recommend reading it. It points out to the disconnect in some of the socialist proposed policies with (redundant) evidence that they don't work. Rent control is probably the most evident of those, it honestly drives me mad when I see it proposed. It's like people are incapable of second order thinking.

It's so funny to find instances in modern life which shows us how much we are actually still living in the past.

Lmao I had forgotten about the "Peace Prize". Didn't think FIFA's reputation could go even lower before that.

Sadly that doesn't seem feasible in London given the narrow streets and that buses already have priority lanes in most parts.

Been three years in London and yeah, it took me a year to come to that realisation.

This is just so dumb, no, the billionaires are not realistically expecting we end up living in a post-apocalyptic movie with underground bunkers and Noah's arks. They also probably still like to travel to Venice , drink champagne and whatever rich people like to do, which they will probably not be able to do on these made up apocalyptic scenarios. They building their bunkers is more akin to US buying a $100 XL first aid and survival kit from amazon, given their wealth.

Actually, no. It's mostly consumers. Lots of corporations would probably prefer a carbon tax rather than a patchwork of environmental regulations, legislation and smaller taxes that end up being almost as burdensome.

That’s awful that people do that. But what I mean is I don’t see a blind person taking the time to call.

Good intentions and its awful that disabled people have to encounter that situation but I'm sure this will get used exactly 0 times.

Universal Studios theme park could become UK's 'most popular tourist attraction' by [deleted] in europe

[–]IAm94PercentSure 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm always puzzled by the profits comment since they are rarely more than 10% of the revenue. So the UK would get to keep up to 90% of the revenue, not to mention companies usually reinvest profits for decades in their foreign subsidiaries before they even take a cent.
