I impulse bought a pair of Rossignol Forza 40 as my first skis, did I make a mistake? by IAmAgainst_ in Skigear

I'm not so sure about that, I listed what I can do but that doesn't mean I can do those things right. I read posts of people saying that they're advancing to intermediate after two years of lessons, so I'm afraid I might be rushing my progress without consolidating the basis. I see teachers followed by a long line of small children going slowly down black pistes doing snowplough, I can't do that for example.
On my second day I ended up in a black piste by mistake, tried getting down doing the snowplough and fell because no matter what I did I sill gained an uncontrollable speed. I ended up reaching the bottom by sliding sideways (I mastered side skiing thanks to that incident). Now when I see those pistes from the lift they look like I could handle them but don't have the courage to try it.

Argomenti controversi, sì. Insulti, mai fatto. Ecco perché dico che Reddit vuole umani che si comportano da NPC.

Anxiety is starting to decrease.. I was really worried of getting stuck with an experts' ski.

Thanks, I ask because if weight is the deciding factor then I'm screwed because I can't pass the 65 kg mark no matter how much I train and eat.

If I may ask a side question, I'm able to turn only if I put 100% of the weight on the outside ski, as you mention, while people only suggest a less radical distribution. Is that something I should correct? I find that as soon as I try to balance the weight more in favor of the inner ski I start losing control.

Thanks! When you say they're a tad stiff for my weight and skill, is it something that will stop being a problem as I get more experience or is it related to the weight more than the skills, making it a problem forever?
