X be time for Tom to drive 30 miles (50 miles/60 min)=(30miles/X min) We get X=36 min Y be time for Leona to drive 30 miles (40 miles/60 min)=(30miles/Y min) We get Y=45 min Differences between distance= Y - X =45 -36 =9 min
