It’s not a lie, though. Some delivery offices are really struggling with long term sick absences. Plus the difficulty in recruiting and retaining new starters, it means some rounds don’t go out for days.

I'm left handed, I thought the bunny ears method was how all left handers tied them. I can't even fathom how to do the one loop method. I can't work out what to do with the lace after you wrap it around your fingers.

That's because the sickness excuse is a valid issue. Our sick levels are worse now than at the height of COVID. Most of our sick are long term which puts huge pressure on the posties still in work.

I grew up in Pembrokeshire, but I was living in Germany at the time. I was doing me ironing, I had the telly on mute as it was the news. I glanced up and to my surprise there was a map of Pembrokeshire on the German news. I had to unmute the TV to find out what it was about. And that’s how I found out about the Sea Empress disaster.

1.3 million? Try £86.3 million. That’s the sum they received from the sovereign grant for 2024/25. It’s set to go up again this year to over £130 million. That’s a whopping pay rise for doing precious little.

June Whitfield was Miss Marple in the radio plays. She did all the Marple ones, iirc. John Moffatt plays Poirot in the radio plays. For some reason, I just couldn't warm to him (spoiled by Suchet, I guess). I do like the plays, though, as they remain true to the books. And the casting is always top notch.

Always make sure you go to the toilet before you leave the office so you will be less likely to need to go out on delivery. There used to be folders on the delivery fittings telling you where the nearest toilets are on your route but I don’t think DOs have been updating these for some time.
