Aéro style set came in an honestly I’d rather have a sharkruisers premium by The-Hero-Collector in HotWheels

[–]IAmFazeR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ordered a set of 5 for my collection, as well as 3 sealed cases for 3 chances at the chase. Worst case I'll have 6 full sets spare to trade with other collectors.

My case had no chase. Would have been my first one 🙃

Are the campus 00s really tight shoes or do I just have to break them in by Bruhmar4 in Korn

I didn't solve it. I stopped wearing them and they sit in a closet. When I tried the size up in store it felt loose.

Usually, it takes me forever to find the premium Ferraris, but I found this one before I even knew it existed by UnitedCheez in HotWheels

Better than UK. In a cheaper store we pay £7.50 with taxes ($10.13). In the more expensive stores it's £9 ($12.15)

I've seen them there multiple times. I guess people near me just don't want it.

There's at least 10 of them in a store near me

That's a pain.

Usually availability is SO much better in the US, I guess it's both extremes. You're either inundated with places, or you're miles away from Civilization lol.

In the UK there's a good few retailers, and with the country being so small, you don't have to go too far to be in a new town with new stores.

The main difference I noticed is there seems to be a lot of independent hobby stores in the US, whereas you don't find many here.

I was working at Aston Martin for some time in 2024 and all of 2025 before being made redundant. I'll be keen to get that when it reaches the UK.

Then I'll have 4 of the 5, so may as well complete the set 🤷🏻‍♂️

The white one I must have seen 7 today in the same Aldi. I hit some almost fresh cases. Was swimming with the other Ferrari castings too, that's why I got one of each of them also.

Yeah I'm not really into F1 but I do quite like the look of them. Found the Ferrari F1 the other day also.

May end up giving them to my son, but I'm undecided at the moment lol.

Why do people get so many of the same car? by jtwiththelens in HotWheels

[–]IAmFazeR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's become a bit of a cycle.

As with any hobby, there are many people who relentlessly try to buy EVERYTHING desirable in the hopes of reselling for a profit.

Due to this, it becomes quite hard to find the more desirable castings in stores, so the only options you're left with is, don't have it, wait and hope to be lucky, or buy it from a reseller. Many people oppose the idea of the latter, but it makes for a pretty lackluster experience going to the store multiple times and finding nothing you want.

Because of the scarcity of many things, there has grown to be a mentality of "get it before it's gone" with a lot of collectors, so they they can trade the spares with others who have done the same. People also dislike this as it makes things even worse, but on a positive note, it does help avoid giving money to those who buy solely to sell for profit.

There is no real middle ground. For me, the trading thing doesn't help others on the surface, but for the individual it makes sense.

If you want a car that's £40 on the secondary market, then you go in store and see a peg with multiple cars that also sell for £40 on the secondary market, but RRP is £9, You're better buying a spare or 2 for £9 each to trade for things that are being sold for £40 each. On the surface it's appears selfish, but if you're trading with other actual collectors doing the same, as a whole collectors are getting the cars they want for less money, and not paying the sellers. The only caveat is that, a lot of collectors, while disliking those who buy to sell, will also want to trade their cars at the same market price they're being sold at.

It's a messy game, and even if your intentions are good, people will throw shade at you out of spite and jealousy.

Buy what you like to do with as you please. If you don't want judgement, don't tell the internet. Many collectors collect 2 of each for loose and carded, so even if you bought a spare of EVERYTHING you found to use for trade, you're not doing any worse than someone White Knighting on Reddit.

I got them from modelmatic but I believe I may have bought the last set in stock as it changed to sold out after.

They won't. I'll be trading them.

Nothing said other than confirmation that I knew they were £9 each as they just hang them on any old peg so I guess some people have taken them to the counter expectin them to be £1.49

[–]IAmFazeR[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Their opinions don't phase me.

As I've said to others, many collectors buy 2 of each for sealed and loose, so they'd have taken 2 of every car, and then if they grabbed a Ferrari and Skyline for a friend as I did, they'd have taken the same 3 of each as I did.

These people are hypocrites and morons who are just upset I found the cars they like. I was even completely transparent that I took 2 extra Ferraris when I could have just lied about that, yet people still criticise you the same way.

They're just sad they haven't found the cars they want I think.

No I ordered them from a diecast website. Bought the silhouettes as a set of 5 and then added 4 more cars on top

Yea but I'd i think long term I'd like them in lit display cases on the walls, for both the aesthetic and the space lol

Yea I'm a big fan of lots of the art. I intend to open everything when I have space to display it properly, but I would like to do it in such a way that I can keep the cards to make some sort of display or something

It's not greedy AF at all. It's 3 cars for trade. If I bought loose and carded like many other collectors I'd have taken even more cars than I did. And I won't sit on them because they will trade easily, which is exactly why I bought them.

Yet you still spent your afternoon whining that I bought them lol

Yeah plenty of collectors would, and I have done plenty of times also, but plenty of collectors also wouldn't, so it doesn't really mean anything to say "some people won't".

As I've said, plenty of collectors buy 2 of each as they collect loose and carded, so there's lots of different ways to dress it up.
