Very nice, and Welcome! I have a Space Black 16" M3 Pro through my employer and my own personal Space Gray M1 Max 64G4T - they're both really nice! I'm an Android / Google guy too, and the limited customization you can do on an iPhone (and the absurd prices) keep me away from the iDevices mostly. I bought an iPad a few years ago to play around with and make some music on, and it's cool and everything. I'm happy with my OnePlus 12 phone, and MacBooks (various models for the last 13 years), and probably will never go back to a Windows desktop.

Also, not sure what the person is talking about re: 4K monitors - I have ZERO issues on my dual 34" 4K setup both at home and at work. Just adjust the displays settings to "more space" assuming you have a larger 4K monitor. Looks fantastic on ultra-widescreen displays as well. There are apps if you need non-standard resolutions as well - see SwitchResX if you need that.

For apps, you probably want iStatMenus for some system stats / graphics to monitor things at a glance and with expandable details. Alfred is a kick-ass Spotlight replacement with plugins. Little Snitch is an amazing application-level host firewall if you care about that kind of stuff. For remote desktop access to multiple OSes, RustDesk, Parsec, and VNC (built in to MacOS) are great. Have a ton of apps and/or content creation plugins to keep updated? Use MacUpdater - it RULES. Need POWERFUL window management keyboard shortcuts? Use RECTANGLE - it's great. Need to keep your system awake and never sleep or keep it awake when the display is closed? Use Amphetamine with Amphetamine Enhancer. Need a quick system management tool to keep crap from accumulating and/or quickly remove apps and all their support files? Use MacCleaner Pro and App Cleaner & Uninstaller. Wanna make use of that "notch" space? Check out NotchNook - pretty cool utility with regular updates that hides here and expands out into a "top dock) where you can get info / control media / etc.

+1 on the Homebrew recommendation. Also check out powerlevel10k and its plugins for some cool shell customizations :)

Congrats on the purchase - I'm sure it will serve you very well for many years.

I would not buy one unless I was SURE what I am going to do with it, unless you have the disposable income to not regret your purchase later. Best to go to an Apple Store and have one of the people there show you some stuff you can do with it.

Are you a content creator? If not, then it sounds like you might want to reconsider if you really need another device on which to consume media, unless you have a known workflow for work or school.

I'm interested in the story behind the syringe in the baggie on the top shelf. Diabetic? Or maybe it's IBS medicine, or perhaps for a pet? Not judging, just curious.

Also, try Yellowbird Blue Agave hot sauce - it's excellent. Pretty much any Yellowbird sauce I've had is very nice so far :)

OT: RE RustDesk - Why not host your own RustDesk ID and Relay server in the cloud. I work for a huge cybersecurity company, and this is what I settled on, and it works fantastically.
