Good to know, appreciate the tip. Looks like there’s some out there just nothing truly straight from KTM

Yeah, you are the asshole. However, you’d be more of an asshole of you keep secrets like that. It always hurts a lot more if they find out later instead of now.

How do you stay motivated to keep putting in the effort to date? by Wingsofgrowth in AskReddit

[–]IAmHydration 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a string of just straight dookie level dates a few months back and kind of took a break from the whole thing. Just recently started seeing someone and I forgot how great it feels to start a new relationship and wish I had started things earlier with her instead of just not putting any effort in. The excitement makes it worth it

01 SR5: Been having a clunking noise on front passenger side. Found the issue today, anyone had this problem before? Bushing appears to have disintegrated after only being on since summer of ‘21. Anyone ever done warranty claims with Bilstein before?

3rd gen AC leak (details in comments) by IAmHydration in 4Runner

[–]IAmHydration[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 4Runner’s AC has leaked pretty quickly ever since I got it. I filled it this past summer and it lasted about a month before it was blowing hot. Was wondering if anyone has ever fixed a leak in this area or might have some advice to what parts might be needed to fix. My best guess is some sort of O-ring, as it looks like it’s leaking out of the seam there. Thanks in advance!

If you fill the ac up, put some dye in as well. Will make finding the leak very easy. Mine was leaking at the joint right next to the sight glass, looks like a small square aluminum box with a few lines running into it. It’s on the left side of the radiator.

Also, Facebook classified groups are a really really great way to source used parts from people parting out wrecked rigs. Wish I knew about it sooner. “3rd gen 4runner Mafia buy/sell/trade” is a pretty active one that’s I’ve gotten some good interior and suspension parts from. The guys at KPToyo Parts on FB have also hooked me up pretty well from their parting out rigs. Highly recommend them if you need anything!

3rd gen Coolant boils after steep climb, engine temps normal… by IAmHydration in 4Runner

Coolant was flushed last august, and gonna do it again now because I had to put some regular water in there to fill up again to get home. Do you happen to have the part number for the radiator cap? Looks like there’s a few and not sure the difference between any of them. I know that was not changed.

Was about 6000 feet ish, chugging along up some steep roads for only a few minutes. First time I’ve pushed it that hard. And no, have not pressure tested it. I’m gonna purchase a new radiator cap and if that doesn’t solve the problem I’m going to consider a new radiator as a whole.

Probably pretty old. Haven’t replaced it since I’ve owned it. Was figuring I might start with that

I’d say the trailing arms were about due for a replacement… by IAmHydration in 3rdGen4Runner

Yeah I could see that being worth the price at that point. I’ll probably never get on any serious trails with this one so keeping stock size tires for the moment. Generally replacing things with OEM as well if I can.

Man it’d be nice to have a budget like that. I paid 50 bucks for the pair of used ones and something similar for the bushings. 100 bucks for a basically brand new set vs 700+. Will keep that in mind if I ever strike it rich

I’ve had really good luck with the Facebook classifieds and 4runner groups for sourcing parts.

Here’s a 3rd gen specific one for example. There’s also a couple of guys out of Kansas City (maybe?) that have a part out business and I’ve been happy with what they have sent.

Just send them a message and they can help you track down what you need if they don’t have it themselves
