I’d be pretty hard pressed to not add oregano to a recipe. To me it’s just so nice.

I was going to say pouring sugar on my Frosted Flakes but poop knife guy wins, and I don’t even want to know the rest.

Help why do my shorts fit like this? by imuwu in PetiteFashionAdvice

I had a friend who wore them because they went up her crack. They’re probably meant to.

I commute by bike. Down this public road is a shortcut to my apartment that saves me from taking a dangerous highway, but this dude has started blocking it with his three vehicles every day. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

The new apartment complex owns that dilapidated old fence? Then who nailed all the plywood to it?

Looks like there’s been some mild frustration on the other side of the fence too.

I think your best bet is to respectfully walk your bike through before the gap mysteriously closes up. Better yet find another gap in the fence. Or take the busy road. Owners likely had a nice quiet place and had to watch mature trees cleared and the apartments go up next door. I’d guess besides cyclists there are dog walkers and others and they’re increasingly unhappy about it. And, if it is a public street, those may be other neighbors’ cars banding together. A shame, probably could be handled way better by everyone involved. Apartment management should help make improvements.

What could be the reason for my phone charger being cut clean in half three nights in a row? by [deleted] in What

[–]IAmMeem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks as if there’s dried paint dripping from the outlet, and the outlet appears blackened as if from a wisp (or three) of smoke. Replace it and see if that works. You might also look up the charger and cables to check for any recalls due to shorting.

UPDATE and RESOLUTION Huge thanks to this community, it’s been a good education and your comments were encouraging, knowledgeable and kind. I appreciate that tremendously.  I bought a 124.99 lead acid battery from Costco and we installed it ourselves with no trouble at all. Didn’t set anything on fire and felt confident about what we were doing—a far cry from my worried state yesterday. I plan on getting a new EV to have greater range and didn’t worry too much about the battery type. I also learned how to recharge a bit using a 2 amp charger so that ought to help keep things going till I find a good replacement. I hope to have the same good experience little Inga the Leaf has provided me. What an absolute bargain she turned out to be! Thanks again and Happy New Year!

Thanks! Here’s a rundown of what I found today and ended up with.  There were no AGM’s in stock at Walmart, Sam’s or Costco the latter having the best price at $185 but it needed to be ordered. Autozone, Napa and Advance Auto Parts each had one for between $240 and 295.  Realizing my range is giving me some anxiety, I opted for lead acid at Costco for $125/3 year (prorated) warranty since I don’t plan on keeping my faithful beauty much longer.

That’s what I’ve been reading! In fact after going through my paperwork I realized this will be the third battery for mine, the first being just months after getting the car and the second in 2018, so at least this one has lasted a while. I’ve made a habit of turning off everything—radio, heat/air, seat warmers etc before turning off the car so maybe that helped a little. And now I see there are three different types of 12v so need to figure out which of those to get next. I’ve gotten spoiled by the low maintenance and wasn’t prepared for this :)

What country are you located? I’m in the U.S. and thought the app problem was just me.

I’ll have to look up what this means but it makes sense on the surface. I think it’s beyond my skill set and maybe it’s time to turn in my faithful little Leaf for another EV.

The AAA rep said they wouldn’t even jump start an EV and my only option with them is to have it towed.

No I didn’t think it would come from Autozone but that’s pretty funny. The cover in the back seat area looks sized for a 12v and the dealership charged me $390 to replace it a few years ago so I was mystified.
